AIBU to wonder what else could go wrong?!

Is anyone else going through a patch where absolutely everything is going wrong?!

We're moving house. Our buyers are messing us around, we've just discovered a boundary dispute on the (exceptionally unique to our needs) house we're buying, our vendors are refusing to even engage. Our solicitor lied to us about the title and delayed our entire transaction by months so we're going through a complaint with our firm.

The sale was supposed to have completed months ago so I ended up giving birth in a hospital two hours away from where we live. Bringing DD home from the hospital, stuck in standstill traffic on the M25, a motorbike was whizzing between unmoving cars and hit our passenger side. Then, a week later, someone hit the drivers side when the car was parked on the road outside our house, knocking the wing mirror off.

Within the space of one week, our dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer all went kaput (entirely separate issues). We got the tumble dryer fixed and bought a new dishwasher but we've discovered that the integrated washing machine cannot be replaced or repaired without pulling up our entire floor! We bought a plug in mini washing machine and it set on fire! That night, our smoke alarm kept going off for no apparent reason - then we realised our smoke alarm was smoking! My laptop broke on Monday and DH's broke on Tuesday - luckily they're both still under AppleCare.

We're finally moving out of our house today. We went to take a meter reading and the meter has broken. I tried to contact the energy company while DH went to collect the van to move - our car broke down on the way.

Please, someone convince me this will stop now. I just want to curl up and cry...but there's not even a place to sit.

Our electrics are fine... but thanks, I guess.

I'd be worried that these are all signs that moving is the wrong idea for you.

Sounds like you need a big glass of Wine what an utterly shit time you've had OP!

Here's to a new start in your new home, I hope the universe eases up on you all!

That is an extremely unfortunate series of events, no doubt. All you can do is continue tackling the problems as they arise, but my goodness that must be so tiring and anxiety provoking.

Thank you, but I can't, I'm still easing into breastfeeding and the glasses are all packed. Can't catch a break, eh?

Gonna take your word for it Grin but 7 different electrical appliances breaking (with 2 of them smoking and at least 3 of them new or newish?) sounds like either something going on or literally the most horrendous bad luck I've ever heard of. Hope things get better for you though.

My laptop issue was a firmware issue so can't be related to electrics, the washing machine was a plumbing issue not related to electrics... An electrical safety check was done as part of the sale - but I won't jinx it again, they'll probably all fall to shit soon.

Gosh, that's a huge amount of bad luck! I hope you've had it all now and things get better.
