Constant illness giving me dark thoughts.

Hi all. I had Covid 3 months ago and I have been constantly unwell since. Off top of my head I’ve had an infected wisdom tooth, a sinus infection, tonsillitis, a constant cough and cold, conjunctivitis, 3 D&V bugs, I could go on. I phoned the GP last week and she said it’s to be expected following covid and will be being made worse having 2 young children in childcare.

I’ve woken up this morning with yet another sickness and diarrhoea bug. The kids haven’t even had this one. I’m so low. I’m being a crap parent. I’m trying my best. My DH is great but he works full time and can only do so much.

I get enough sleep, I eat well, I take vitamins and iron sachets. I drink green smoothies and ginger shots. Nothing works. I don’t see the point in living the rest of my life like this. I’m not suicidal and have always been fairly robust mentally but I can’t live like this.

Would your GP be willing to send you to a Long Covid clinic?

YANBU. I have hypermesis at the moment, and mentally it’s incredibly tough. It does sound like you need some further investigations or to be seen by the long Covid clinic. Sorry you’re having such a rough time 💐
