possibly a sickness bug. I felt queasy yesterday and my DH and DD have been sick during the night. I’m meant to be going to a conference today and really want to go but am feeling a little sick when I move. WWYD?

You really need to ask? Doubt anyone will thank you for taking a virus to a conference

Elecktra22 · 21/09/2022 05:16

I think it’s the whole guilt thing about missing work, I still get that despite the pandemic and I’m also wondering if I’ve escaped it given that I just feel queasy

It's nothing to do with the pandemic. You can't take a sickness bug to a conference full of people.

EspressoPatronumm · 21/09/2022 06:05

That's disgusting

Peonypetalperfume · 21/09/2022 06:08

No. You can’t go. If you feel queasy and two other family members have had it I think the writing is on the wall. Sickness bugs are so contagious it wiold be horribly unfair to attend. I hope you all feel better soon.

DDivaStar · 21/09/2022 06:28

This has nothing to do with covid. Your colleagues don't want a sickness bug.

I assume the conference will involve you moving around, therefore feeling sick. Potentially ending up being sick at the conference and having to arrange getting home.

Just keep your illness to.yourselves.

lurker69 · 21/09/2022 06:44

I'm sure you would feel more guilty if you made people ill than you would missing work? This kind of thing is exactly why bugs spread so badly. Aside from the fact it's very selfish how embarrassing will it be when you start throwing up or worse at work!

lannistunut · 21/09/2022 06:46

It would be a really unfair and irresponsible thing to do. You have had confirmed contact with a sickness bug and feel queasy.

You know full well you should stay home.

10HailMarys · 21/09/2022 10:35

Absolutely DO NOT go to a conference with a sickness bug FFS!

It would be beyond selfish. A conference is just about the most effective way imaginable of spreading a sickness bug to as many people as possible.

You feel queasy. Just because you haven't thrown up yet, that doesn't mean that you won't - and even if you don't throw up, that doesn't mean you won't pass a bug on to other people who will.
