To not understand this?

I work with a girl in her 20s who is extremely vocal about how the covid vaccines are dangerous and how people are stupid for having them because they affect fertility, periods, give people blood clots and nobody know what’s in them. Goes on about it every single day BUT has regular lip fillers and smokes like a chimney!
Surely she must know lip fillers can be dangerous (She doesn’t get them done by a qualified nurse)!

Am I being unreasonable?

I'm fully vaccinated and get what you say. However I did support my DD, who has had a horrendous history with her periods not getting vaccinated. Once again fertile women weren't considered when producing and testing the vaccine. So she also has a point. I'd shut down the conversation though.

She's an idiot. Tell her to keep her opinions to herself.

People are weird, what can you do? You just have to ask her to please stop discussing it. Loads of smokers worry about e.g. air pollution, food choices.

Poor risk assessment. It's a curse.

Just say to her
'Once you stop smoking and stop putting botulism into your bloodstream, then I'll listen to your advice.'

Then ignore.

Yup. Mental. Though on the fertility thing (and I can’t prove it was the cause but) I’ve been peri menopausal for years, lack of periods etc and got my period back after my first covid vaccine and regular too, got pregnant after my second vaccine.

I haemorrhaged for two days after the vaccine so I agree with her.

Same, went 9 months without a period and had irregular periods for 10 years. Been regular since first vaccine and now TTC.
Congratulations!

Tell her you've heard her point enough times now and she doesn't need to keep repeating it.

So you think she’s stupid for claiming the vaccine affects periods and fertility but at the same time you’re admitting it affected your period?

i’m extremely pro vaccine and have had all the covid boosters on offer but at least try to make sense when you’re slagging someone else’s opinion off

Fingers crossed for you. Sending positive vibes.
I was Ttc for 6 years and was told amh low and likely won’t happen then after the covid vaccine boom pregnant. Doctor couldn’t believe it either. I had to go in after the positive test because she said with my history it’s unlikely that I’m really pregnant and certain “cancers of the woman” (wtf even is that) give a false positive on a pregnancy test but I was. Currently on the night feeds.

No, she saying someone who says they care about clotting, fertility and health should maybe not smoke and use things that are PROVEN to affect that.

No. I mean it’s mental that folk who claim things like vaccines affect your fertility or cause cancer smoke like chimneys when both those do too, folk that claim they don’t know what’s in vaccines don’t exactly know the provenance of all the ching they’re shovelling up their nose at the weekend either but vaccines seem to get the blame. Folk rambling on about how it affects their health when they’ve been living like Keith Richards since highschool don’t really have an argument do they?

I'm another one whose periods were affected by it. I also developed swollen glands (which never went down) in the armpit of the side I got the vaccine in, which makes it pretty difficult to check for lumps now.

No, I think she’s stupid for saying she won’t put poison in her body but gets unregulated fillers!
