My Cat Neighbour issue

My cat is 19 years.old.. We live in a small section with 4 houses. My cat is very friendly and says hello to all. New neighbours moved in & have started picking cat up taking into their house at first I didnt mind. Then is was for hours when I asked them not too, then feeding her and finally saying make sure my cat is out of your house by 10pm each night as i couldnt find her one night when neighbour came to the door with cat! Been going on for 3 months. Final straw on hands and knees in the dark looking for cat.. They obvs saw us.looking for cat with torch at 11.10pm & thought we had gone in & they were caught red handed letting her out.. a stern word at rhe time calm & polite was made. I then didn let the cat out the front for a week.. i thought neighbour had gone to work cat went out i was getting my shopping in from the car.. neighbour clearly thought i had closed the front door when i then saw her open hers & call my cat in....followed by.me saying this now needs to stop. I take it you heard what happened the other night. No apology just past me the cat. Ffks. My cat is 19 years of age shes.not a toy...Get your own...This is a working family like us...they have older children who have left home. Ive been polite so far but to the point.....stupid or plain rude

This is beyond! I'd be so mad at the neighbours - and I'd also be mad at my cat for being a little prick, even if he is 19, should know better! 😅

Obeythedancecommander · 20/09/2022 22:07

Get a GPS collar tracker, should deter the neighbours from letting him in if they know you are recording it.

Thank you most.of my friends who are not all cat owners said they would be fuming as wrll. Makes me feel better now. Even walked over our drive and neighbours drive to get her out of bushes she sleeps in the sun in the sunner that Shes done for 19 years! Still waiting for my apology. We ve had.to help them too in the short time they have been there.

I feel your pain. My cat is 17 and on thyroid meds twice a day. My new neighbours let him in, fed and fussed him. I explained everything to them about his condition etc and it stopped briefly. More recently it's happening again. I've had further words and they've assured me they aren't feeding him. Bullshit! When my cat isn't begging for his breakfast in the kitchen and saunters in early afternoon I know he's with them. By that time he's very late with meds. Really pissing me off but don't want to keep knocking on their door all the time. I don't have bloody time!

Tell them he has had a really bad infestation of resistant to flea spray fleas…..you have had him treated at the vets, but of course he could have been infested for a few days before you realised so they might find a few hatching out ….

Bullo22 · 20/09/2022 22:18

Bloody dangerous as well could make your cat really poorly.. if people want a cat there are loads that need homes.. i wouldnt want to piss my neighbours off..never had an issue at all..

This has happened to me. Cat wandered in to a neighbour's backyard, next thing they've been down to the shops to buy her food and got her settled in their house.

Another neighbour put her on a Facebook lost and found animal page , when she was in their back garden for 5 mins. Who the fuck posts a cat as lost when it is briefly in their garden?

Mumtobabyhavoc · 20/09/2022 23:44

This is bizarre cat - coveting behaviour!
