To hate shopping

Backthetruckup · 20/09/2022 20:51

I can't stand shopping! Supermarkets give me the rage and it's about as far removed from a leisure activity as you can get...who's with me?

YABU - Get over it, shopping is great fun.

YANBU - It's a necessary evil.

Online shopping.

Backthetruckup · 20/09/2022 20:55

I mean shopping in person, but I don't enjoy doing it online either!

So that’s my point you don’t like it don’t go.

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 20/09/2022 20:59

It’s hideous.

I do it all online.

Unless it’s a nice garden centre or a cute stationery shop then shopping is a horrible task.

XenoBitch · 20/09/2022 20:59

I am ok with shopping when I know what I need, and I know the shop will have it (so grocery shopping).
I hate vague shopping... like needing an outfit for a wedding or something. Not having exactly what I need in mind stresses me out!

HairyMothballs · 20/09/2022 21:01

I hate going around any shops. I do the main groceries online (Asda), and have them delivered. I occasionally need to go somewhere for bread or milk, mid-week. I buy clothes online, too.

bruce43mydog · 20/09/2022 21:02

Yeah hate it too. Can never decide what I want/need and it just stressess me out. It's even worse when you take others shopping with you and everything you pick up, they say 'oh you wouldn't like that', or 'What you buying that for? get this'
Online shopping is marginally better.

Backthetruckup · 20/09/2022 21:04

@SpinningFloppa Sometimes you need to go unfortunately - to pick up a late birthday card or grab some milk and bread etc. Online clothes shopping I can't get on with either. I've tried but 90% of the time they don't fit properly and it's such a faff sending it all back.

Backthetruckup · 20/09/2022 21:09

@bruce43mydog Yes, I never shop with other people if I can avoid it!

@HairyMothballs I sometimes feel guilty about having shopping delivered, like the delivery guy is there thinking, why doesn't she just go and get it herself??

Does anybody really like food shopping?
Mind you, I've always hated clothes shopping too. Actually most shopping really, so maybe I'm biased.

But I do like shopping for Christmas decorations and Halloween tat.

MadameCholetsDirtySecret · 20/09/2022 21:48

Agreed. I shop online for 99% of every thing I need.
If I didnt have to enter a shop again, I would be happy.

Backthetruckup · 20/09/2022 22:07

@MadameCholetsDirtySecret Me too, the oppressive lights, the irritating music, the lack of windows, the people dodging etc etc. I realise this is most definitely a first world problem.😄

Not many do like shopping as it is a chore, I get most of mine online

User1754983 · 20/09/2022 22:13

I generally buy Birthday cards from Amazon, it's not the sort of thing I would buy from a shop

Backthetruckup · 20/09/2022 23:31

@User1754983 The popular opinion seems to be that if you're a woman you should love shopping, it's such a cliché.
