They’re back on…will anything be said/addressed?

I’m thinking not…

@Wonnle Or Fern Britton, she's lovely.

The funniest thing with what Philips done in past with his very dodgy history with young men, this is barely there in worst things he has done.

Yup, as someone else quipped; "it's like arresting Pablo Escobar for running up late return fees at the library"

AuldReekie1905 · 20/09/2022 22:12

I've not lived in the UK for 12 years and genuinely thought people liked Holly and Phillip! Can anyone please explain to me why they're now so disliked/hated? (Genuine question)

FabFitFifties · 20/09/2022 22:23

They are unbearably smug.

2pinkginsplease · 20/09/2022 22:29

Mountains and mole hills sprig to mind.

Some individuals have nothing better than to shit stir, moan and get annoyed at the last ablest of things.

some individuals need to get a life? Bloody ridiculous

It feels very much like an Orwellian 2 minute hate.

God knows how many other people got special access and didn’t have to queue. MPs could apparently each take 4 guests, so could take in any 4 people they wanted to impress, no matter how “undeserving” they were of that special privilege.

What is the difference between those people getting permission to “jump the queue” from an MP, and Holly and Phil who also got permission from someone? None - and yet some people seem utterly enraged/disgusted about one, but totally indifferent to the other.

It’s just the randomness of the internet rage squad - who shall we hate today?

Don't you just love all the people who 'just don't care' posting on these threads 🤷🏻‍♀️

I agree completely. It’s cognitive dissonance.

Do you mean people who don’t care about Holly and Phil, but who do care about the growing culture of hate fuelled internet rage?

I definitely care about the latter. It has real world consequences for people who fall victim to it.

All of the above

I think it’s becUse the pair of them pretend to be “one of us” yet when push comes to shove, they are both entitled and arrogant and unlikeable people.

they aren’t journalists, the only filming allowed was the BBC live stream. By the time the segment was broadcast the queue was long over and old news and the real stories were coming from outside where people were making friendships/coming together. Essentially my view is that they twigged that they could use a press pass to jump the queue, got caught and then tried to shrug it off.

it’s interesting how almost everyone Phil has worked with has nothing good to say about him. Fern Britton, Amanda Holden, Ruth & Eamon… they are all very outspoken on what a prick he is

iTVs problem is that they rely on too few presenters. If the public show that they’ve turned on P&H, ITV are screwed because they only have a roster of about 5 presenters in total

southlondonerhere · 21/09/2022 07:39

This is like that black mirror episode where there's a big online pile on about someone and everyone is encouraged to use a certain hashtag about them involving the word kill or something like that and then the victim gets killed by bees. Good episode

MP's have a bit more gravitas than a couple of tv presenters from a crappy magazine show. They lowered the tone by being there.

Tillsforthrills · 23/09/2022 06:28

They’re both usually very smug and I think they’ve had their day. The backlash is just a front to get rid of them as there’s no way ITV would let them go just like that without a backlash.
