Just saw a TikTok that was uploaded by a woman that she is on a first date with a man and he’s brought his child - camera pans to a toddler asleep in the booth next to him.
Queue comments such as
‘at least he’s honest from the start’
’hes just being there for his kids’
‘such a good man’

AIBU to think the bar is so low for men that people think this is acceptable and I quote ‘cute’. Completely inappropriate for the child and the woman IMO who bears no responsibility to spend time with another mans child on the FIRST DATE. Would be interesting to see the male opinion if a woman did this but we all know it would be ‘run/red flag’.

Yes, it is. Women always let men get away with low bar behaviour, writing it off as "cute", even when it's inappropriate or just weird. The same allowances are never made for fellow women.

It's ridiculous but I don't see it ending any time soon, pick-me culture is alive and well.

Thank god the woman who took the video clearly thought it was strange too. One less woman who will be picking up the slack on another mans lack of wanting to actually parent as it’s clearly what he’s set out to search for.

Ffs that’s a total red flag. He’s not honest or caring or special, he doesn’t even give enough of a shit about his dc to keep his dating life separate from their time. A woman would (rightfully) be flamed for pulling a stunt like this so it’s utterly ridiculous that a man would be praised.
