To ask how not to stink in the morning?

Name changed.

I shower every morning, use deodorant, clean clothes etc. I don't smell during the day.

I wear clean, loose pjs each night. Generally thinish cotton. But oh my, when I wake up, I REEK between my legs! Sometimes I do get hot/sweaty at night (I wake up drenched sometimes) so I know why on those days but other days, like last night I sleep normally, wake up fine and just stink. It's not BV.

It doesn't make much difference if I shower before bed. Other people are still able to smell it in the morning.

I've tried knickers/no knickers and wearing panty liners but that makes no difference either.

Help! I'm due to share a room with a friend in a few weeks.

@Discovereads I've only had one course of antibiotics. The gel stuff was over the counter and I think it's designed to overwhelm the bad bacteria with good bacteria as opposed to kill it.

Because the smell wasn't anything like online said, it took me a long time to realise it was even BV.

You're the first person I've ever heard refer to it as a Mary outside of my family 😲 we called it that too growing up and I thought my family were just crazy 🤣

Years ago I heard a lady ask her daughter if she needed a wee as she was holding her "auntie Mary". My friend's daughter was with me who actually HAS an auntie Mary and she was most confused!

Better than calling it your "cookie" I guess?

@itsonlysubterfuge the smell thing makes sense. I know my feet get smelly when the athletes foot comes back.

If you look at the wiki for jock itch, it has a pretty good picture. Mine use to look like that, but scalier and drier. Which is why I thought mine was eczema originally, it's also pretty itchy. If yours is not itchy at all then it's not this. You also need to do it twice a day for 7 days, but you'll probably notice it start to get better around day 3ish. Make sure you try to keep it really dry because sweat is like fuel for the fungus, even if you have to change your underwear a few times a day while it's getting better.

Hope you heal soon!

Are you drying you pjs properly well ventilated ect as maybe they're musty.
I use loads of comfort but find if I don't put my dark clothes in the garden to air they smell musty.
Doesn't happen with other clothes. X

Athletes foot and thrush are both fungal infections. Use a separate towel for your feet!

And no I don't scrub my Mary with soap but all the creases etc. If the smell is coming from your vagina then it's BV. If you're washing it stop and get some antibiotics off your GP.

How does Mary feel about that

Itsybitsytitsy · 26/09/2022 22:12

@ Pencreed.

The cranberry capsules worked. Thank you x

PenCreed · 27/09/2022 23:10

@Itsybitsytitsy brilliant! I can't remember how I discovered it, but I'm so glad I did.

Hormones or diet most probably but you should get checked out by a doctor
