Child benefit.. confused

My daughter is 10 weeks old and due to a backlog ..only today we are Registering her birth. I have two older children who I have joint custody with their dad. He claims the child benefit and we split the money between us. With my youngest now..I'm not sure to put her through as a new claim or an existing one. If i put her on an existing claim would the money go to my ex husband? Or a new claim but then I'm worried I will receive the higher child rate and get into trouble.any advice or information from people who have been in a similar position would be great. Can't seem to figure it out and it's probably really simple.

You need to put in a separate claim because this child lives with you only. It's fine to do so and you won't get in trouble for claiming the higher rate because it's not you claiming for the other two children

if you are in a separate relationship in a separate household then you do the claim yourself and you get the top level CB as it is the 1st child within your family unit.

Separate. She is not involved in the rest so new claim for her.
