Medication and Mental Health

I was following a post from last week. OP DH has texted escorts. Said he did not meet, was the first time and offered explanation. One of the reasons was medication he was taking which has affected his mental health and OP stated it was linked to depression suicidal thoughts etc.

As somebody who has previously taken prescribed medication I could understand how OPs husband could have done something so stupid. I know for the short period of time that I was on meds I was completely out of it and was definitely not myself and made decisions I would normally not have made.

All the posters disputed that medication would not have affected his behaviour and I however disagree.

I think this thread will probably be removed OP because it's a TAAT.

However, I suffer from anxiety and depression, I am on medication and it hasn't affected the way I make decisions at all. This isn't something I can understand personally as a justifiable reason for what he did.

However, my DM is bi polar and it is exactly the kind of thing she'd do when she's having one of her lows. She does things very self destructive to try and hurt herself. That's not the medication though, that's the bi polar.

I didn't see the previous thread so I don't know what the medication was or the mental health issues were.

On a side note - I saw an interview with Justin Bieber's Psychiatrist who stated he was very much against Gp's , Nurse practitioners etc being able to prescribe anti depressants / anxiety meds etc. He said they did not have enough knowledge to do this
He also mentioned Saffron being a fantastic anti depressant and taking a magnesium suppliment in the evening would likely cure your anxiety as most studies had shown that people suffering from anxiety had a lack of magnesium too.
Anyone - just thought I'd add my twopenneth as my mums likes to say lol. Hope this helps someone xx
