To think publishing the video of King Charles getting annoyed when signing a visitors book today is very unkind?

He has lost both parents in a short time frame, had a disagreement with his own son and taken on a very stressful job at the height of grief. AIBU to think this should not have been made public? Most people would lose their temper at a time like that in their own lives. Why publish this?

Totally agree with this.

The Royal Household is like any large co with well over 1000 staff - and bound by the employee legal requirements. It is clear that a major restructure of the household is inevitable as Charles has become monarch do one team of people at least may not have a role after the Queens death . Legally an organisation must notify their staff as soon as it becomes apparent jobs are at risk. It is not intentionally cruel if negligent as to their feelings- but an unfortunate consequence of The Queens death and his Majesty’s accession.

Exactly this.

We are all different and react differently in times of crisis though.

This.

This isn’t right.

Whether it's a legal requirement or not, it's not exactly kind to allow people to think their employment is secure when it's not.

When those letters are handed out there is always someone kicking themselves for rejecting a job offer or buying a bigger house, or new car or whatever. The sooner people know the sooner they can make appropriate decisions for them.

It shows he’s an entitled twat !

Yanbu I know people who meeded to be sedated as they were so overcome with grief. TBH it would have been pissed if I'd been given a leaking pen at such an occasion. However it seems from the clip it has happened before so A. whoever organised it would be in trouble and B. I would use my own pen in future.

elizaregina · 16/09/2022 07:31

Ellie,it is how own pen.

He's back at Highgrove In Gloucestershire now. Resting

Good! I've just watched the parade today, he looked completely exhausted. I hope Ann is resting somewhere too.

Think it entirely reasonable that he have a day’s resting (bearing in mind that he was with the Queen before her death as well so had all that to deal with). On the same day, Anne flew off to Glasgow to meet with patrons of the Queen’s charities. I’m impressed.

The post you are quoting is mine from 3 days ago. He has been back and busy since.

I hope both him and Ann in particular have a decent break after the funeral to grief in private.

BTW to quote use the three dots in the bottom right of a post and hit quote. 😉

@Dinoteeth

I said that it was entirely reasonable he had a rest so not sure why you needed to assure me that he was busy again, I think we are all aware of that!

I am well aware of how the quote function works, but when I am only answering part of a post I just copy and paste the relevant part of it, meaning I’m not reproducing stuff which is irrelevant to what I’m discussing. So in this case the quote function would have been inappropriate. 😉

I only pointed it out as you copied and pasted my entire post.

I don't actually know why you quoted me in the first place.

MrsFezziwig · 18/09/2022 09:25

@Dinoteeth I actually quoted from two posts, hence condensing them. I included yours it because you said you hoped Anne was resting and I was saying what she was actually doing. The quote function is fine but when it becomes a quote of a quote it can get ridiculous.

And you may have meant well with the quote remark (though possibly not with the random emoticon) but it came across as patronising. A bit like I would if I pointed out that you had spelled “Anne” incorrectly.

sue20 · 19/09/2022 15:01

Absolutely. Are we surprised? No
