Mouse - Help

Mouse behind kitchen plinth. Only one little gap for it to get out of. Tried holding a bin over the gap every time it peeks its head out, but I know I wouldn't drop it in time (and will die trying). The gap is on the top of a 10cm or so plinth, so it has to climb over and drop down before it can run away.

Ideas to catch it and get it out of the house,
PLEASE?!

Are you standing on a tall stool , wobbling , with your skirts and petticoats bundled around your knees , going 'eee , a mouse!' ?
I'll fax you my dog .

Can you lie the bin sideways on the floor (instead of upright or upside down) so the mouse runs straight into it when it drops onto the floor? Maybe put a tiny piece of cheese or bit of peanut butter or chocolate in the bin to tempt the mouse. Then when the mouse is in there, you could take it outside to release it into the garden, maybe?

You'll be fine . Amazon sell humane mousetraps , they work well .
But secure all your food packets ; mice are little sods for having two or three bites of everything .
Good luck .

I just know it'll run around it and off somewhere else (where it can escape off to a place in the house where I dont know where it is)!

Also if it gets in the bin, when I pick it up will it jump out and bite my nose off?

@Telephonic set up a thread & tell us all about it. Honestly it will help much more than just yelling

@ohlordhelpme sorry, I don’t think you’ll catch it. As pp said, make sure your food is secure then get a trap in the morning

@ohlordhelpme how's things ? Is Amazon sending you some humane traps tonight ?
It will only try to bite your nose if you try to kiss it or otherwise get all up in its face .
They are cute and will be concerned only with staying away from you .

I've taken loads off the cat and fished dozens out the bird food - they never bite ! They're petrified! Poor wee mite ! If you can't get it pop a humane trap down then take him far far away and release!

@Telephonic , waterwitch's idea is a good one . You have the attention of at least two people and probably MNHQ by now .
Telling us exactly how you have come to feel upset will be more productive than spoiling things for everyone else .
Don't forget that this is OPs thread and she wants help and advice too .

@Telephonic try one more time . If that doesn't work then maybe you're at a dead end .
Choose your words carefully and make every word count . Avoid adjectives where possible . Include ALL facts...yours and Mumsnet's .
If you get it right maybe MNHQ will let it stand and suffer votes to be cast .
