Fish and chip owner celebrating the Queens death in Scotland
Chickpea17 · 12/09/2022 14:16
Can't believe someone be so cruel to do this.
Why would you celebrate the death of the Queen.

Yeah, it's no wonder the shop got battered.
FourTeaFallOut · 12/09/2022 14:21
He's got a real chip on his shoulder.
It wasn’t the time or the plaice
Hope her customers vote with their feet
EilonwyWithRedGoldHair · 12/09/2022 15:12
She shouldn't receive threats, or have her windows smashed. If people don't like it they should just stop buying her fish & chips.
A local shop had masses of crazy conspiracy nonsense in their windows throughout the covid lockdowns. I just stopped shopping there.

No they can't. Criminal damage is illegal.
Culldesack · 12/09/2022 14:23
They can do what they like, in response to an unnecessarily cruel action.
Mardyface · 12/09/2022 14:20
He can say what he likes though can't he. Or he should be able to. I think it's the people causing actual physical damage to his shop who should be the subject of your horror.
See my earlier response, to somebody saying the same as you.

I've seen it. I questioned your apparent assertion that illegal behaviour is OK if you don't get caught.

The "lizard Liz" strongly suggests someone under the spell of qanon type conspiracy theories. So hard of thinking or vulnerable mental health.
David Icke. According to him the Queen, George W. Bush, Boxcar Willie, amongst others...are lizards.
Oh and the moon is hollow...with specimens inside it observing us. How do they know it is hollow? Because the lunar module made an echoed clink sound (according to Apollo astronauts) when it landed on da moon.

In this instance, absolutely. Fight vulgar conduct with vulgar action.

Agree.
I am sure the late Queen would have strongly disapproved of violence and vandalism in the suppression of free, if undoubtedly objectionable, speech.

Meh, what did she expect? She wanted the publicity and that is the result. Maybe she should have stayed off social media, but as she can't even spell her own name she is obviously a bit of a bungalow.
"What did she expect wearing that short skirt? She wanted the attention and that is the result."
NippyWoowoo · 12/09/2022 15:30
Free speech and all that.
FWR is always (correctly) saying that no one should receive threats or be the target of abusive behaviour etc for their GC views.
Why are this woman's views less worthy?
And before you come with the 'but no one should celebrate death' angle, would you have the same feelings towards someone opening a bottle of champagne to celebrate Putin if he were to die? Or is it just the deaths of people you like who are off limits?
JemimaPiddleDick · 12/09/2022 15:32
There is obviously a MH issue here.
Her local MSP posted on Twitter when it happened last week that she’s been the subject of an intervention in the past.
I don’t condone her behaviour and would encourage any of you to visit any business next time you’re in Muir of Ord and feel peckish, but also don’t condone vandalising her business which will surely be finished after what she did anyway.

Her conduct, however unpleasant, was not illegal. Criminal damage and vandalism is. Thank you for clarifying that you have little respect for the law.

Thank you for clarifying you have little respect for the late Queen. You are more concerned with a vile bigot. No surprises, given our previous encounters on the Tory threads. You carry on. I'm not going there with you.

@ilovesooty is right though. Also, respect for the queen is not a legal requirement.

Her views are gross but I support her right to state them, and her right to completely misjudge the likely outcome. I don’t condone the actions in response but they are hardly surprising.
She would have lost her head at one time. I am pretty sure there is an argument for hate speech with this one.

The above paragraph should have been quoted, I forgot. They are not my words
