Commenting on threads you've no interest in

Prompted by another thread, but why do people come on threads to announce they've no interest in the subject, can't understand why the OP would bother starting such a thread, are bored with threads about this matter, have never heard of the person being discussed etc?

It's as if they think the OP has done something wrong. When actually all they have to do is click off the thread (or not bother opening it in the 1st place) if they've no interest. No one cares if you don't comment, we won't even notice.

^This - the irony of starting an entire thread to moan about this.....

I think you may be misunderstanding the point of this thread.

Then some posters think- ah yes I should search the site to see if this exact same question was asked before, find a thread that does indeed deal with the situation, only to resurect a 15 yr old post - cue shrieks of ZOMBIE.
