Lenor crease release - someone save me

Bought new bedding from soak and sleep. Egyptian cotton. High thread count. I've been so excited to sleep on it but I washed it and it so creased and I'm lazy and refuse to iron. I went out specially and bought lenor crease release. It worked. I have beautiful crisp smooth bedding with no creases - that absolutely reeks of floral chemicals.

I was getting changed in the room and had to leave as it smelt so strong. This is 4 hours after spraying! I'm not going to be able to sleep in it tonight am I? How long does the smell last? We upgraded to a king and only have one other set of bedding for this bed that is in the wash. I was sp looking forward to this sleep and I'm going to end up on the sofa bed in the spare room, aren't I.

Someone tell me the smell fucks off at some point in the next couple of hours.

Is it dry where you are, could you boil it over the line for a bit?

MrsDThomas · 10/09/2022 20:22

I stopped using it as it was lethal with laminate flooring!

nearly broke my neck!

be careful!

OhmygodDont · 10/09/2022 20:23

Never. I basically use it as air freshener on the curtains.

Ladyofthepeonies · 10/09/2022 20:25

@MrsDThomas same - bloody stuff nearly killed me and all for a new coat with creases. But yeah smell lingers too nasty stuff

upandmummin · 10/09/2022 20:25

I'm going to have to wash it again aren't I. Going to go make up and the sofa bed whilst I sob.

Yes I sprayed over bedding , kitchen floor was a death trap

TheDressinggownofdoom · 10/09/2022 20:28

Is this the one that keeps bedding smelling fresh for seven days?

Movinghouseatlast · 10/09/2022 20:40

Christ that stuff stinks to high heaven.

Just do a quick wash then iron it while it's slightly damp. You can just give it a quick going over

OneTC · 10/09/2022 20:47

Once used Lenor to wash a few old duvet covers at the same time and the first night I slept in one I had my only full blown asthma attack (I don't have asthma)

Rewashed them but must have overlooked one and it made its way down to the bottom of the drawer of bedding and a few months later when it was put on the bed i got in and had my second ever full blown asthma attack.

Crazy stuff. The second time round you could barely even smell the perfume

Not much help now but you can have the exact same effect by adding your fave fabric conditioner to some water in a spray bottle.

You can use unscented if you prefer. Works exactly the same way

nachoavocado · 10/09/2022 21:09

What is this stuff? Spray on fabric softener?

yonce · 10/09/2022 21:13

It's lethal in scent and slip!! I haven't used it since like PP I nearly broke my neck 😂 Have you got a handheld steamer? I steam my bedding on the bed, really simple and takes literally a few minutes! So much easier than ironing.

YWBVU to not tell me this five hours ago.

I've got the en-suite extractor fan on with the door wide open into bedroom and bedroom window wide open. I am determined to sleep in there tonight fuck my asthma

Sympathies OP, i

GingerFoxInAT0phat · 10/09/2022 21:45

I did the same as PP and sprayed all our curtains with it. Nearly all of us went arse over tit over the next couple of days. It’s lethal on wooden floors!

Bumply · 10/09/2022 21:54

I bought some for a cruise where no ironing facility.
Tried it out at home and by god it was an assault to my nose.

Workinghardeveryday · 10/09/2022 22:01

I sprayed it in the bedroom, carpet was incredibly slippery for days after.

Hope smell goes op… you might wake up on floor after slipping out in the night….

There is nothing wrong with wrinkled Egyptian cotton sheets .
Years ago DH and I went on a Nile Cruise and the sheets though beautifully soft were as wrinkly as crumpled paper . Didn't make them any less luxe and certainly no nausea inducing smell .
