Accidentally poured reed diffuser oil down the drain, should I be worried?

Earlier I knocked over a reed diffuser on the wooden counter in the kitchen and in a panic I chucked it in the sink and cleaned up the spill. I would never normally as I know they can be toxic to marine life and obviously not ideal to be putting into the drains. Realised afterwards that the rest of the bottle had drained down the sink and Google has come up with all sorts of scary things about it containing formaldehyde and other nasties and now I'm panicking about it having been in the sink and the possibility of it being hazardous. Should I be worried? Obviously won't make the same mistake again.

Think of the bleach concoctions and drain unblockers that are marketed especially for this purpose. Just flush with plenty of water.

This reminds me of when we had a gang of my inlaws up and someone knocked over the fancy-for-us M&S diffuser I’d just bought. MIL told me to look on the bright side and the oily patch on my shelf would smell lovely for ages… I was furious 😂

Yes, I suppose you're right. Oh dear, it's a nightmare to get off when spilled isn't it, that's why I chucked it in the sink! Thanks.
