To ask how to stop doing this?

All my friends call people hun and lovely etc. I’ve now found myself doing it now too subconsciously, how do I stop doing this?? One person the other day asked me why I called them hun and I was so embarrassed

I think it’s a bit cringe when used on MN or social media.

Yeah but I’ve started doing it subconsciously at work and in shops/restaurants etc like my other friends do

I talk to people in a similar manner in how they talk to me. If they 'hun' a lot, I will too.

Please try to stop, I hate it, really hate it. I've a friend to does it constantly to everyone, male and female, doesn't matter if she knows them or not and it makes me cringe inside. Now I am guilty of calling my adult son Pet but I think he'd be a little hurt if I stopped after 30 years.
