I still have my jubilee bunting up. Should I remove it now? Thoughts??

No, don't, it's nice

nachoavocado · 08/09/2022 22:23

What is it? Union Jack?

When we're you going to take it down?

Georgeskitchen · 08/09/2022 22:24

No keep it up in tribute to Her Majesty x

DelilahBucket · 08/09/2022 22:25

I've already sold some Union Jack fabric and a leftover Jubilee commemorative tea towel this evening, so people are obviously feeling patriotic, so I say leave it up.

TimeFlysWhenYoureHavingRum · 08/09/2022 22:26

Paint it black?

Me too. I'm leaving it up

KermitlovesKeyLimePie · 08/09/2022 22:27

Well you've left it up this long, might as well keep it there for the coronation!

Well I'm a lazy bugger, so probably...

I’m thinking of putting mine back up. Perhaps with some black ribbons added in. (I have a coffee trailer that I always have some kind of bunting on).

Skyeheather · 08/09/2022 23:44

I've still got mine up, for some reason I felt I had to leave it up for some reason. My six year old asked me the other day when I would be taking it down and I said October. I'm going to leave it up for now.

HotelKettle · 08/09/2022 23:46

I was also thinking of putting mine up

sparklystar333 · 08/09/2022 23:49

I was thinking the same about putting up my union jack flag I had for the jubilee. Not sure if it's appropriate.

WeisheitNurInWahrheit · 08/09/2022 23:55

How would you fly bunting at half mast? 🤔

Ok, flag protocol doesn’t actually apply here, but surely that’s what one should consult/consider?

5foot5 · 09/09/2022 00:45

No I would suggest take it down. For practical reasons really.

Left up it will fade and start to go a bit tatty and when we do get to have a coronation, could be a year away if last time is anything to go by, it will no longer look nice and you will need to replace it.

I made some for the jubilee. A big string for the front of the house and a small string for my summer house in the back garden. The big string came down after a week and is still in good condition and will look good when the time comes. The small string will have had it by the end of the summer.
