AIBU to ask someone not to vape in my own home?

No, it’s your home, your rules 🤷‍♀️ (unless they are completely unreasonable or plain weird).

PestorPeston · 08/09/2022 09:24

You are very reasonable.

If anyone did that in my home, I'd be deconstructing their vape device.

Dotjones · 08/09/2022 09:25

Depends if it's their home too. A visitor shouldn't vape without permission. Someone who equally owns/rents with you should at least have a room where they can vape.

Sunnyqueen · 08/09/2022 09:26

Not at all. It's your house and people should ask permission before vaping /smoking in it. I vape and would ask if it was okay to vape indoors or should I go outside? It's just about having a bit of respect.

MrsUnicornCakes · 08/09/2022 10:55

@Dotjones it's not their home too. A friend of mine comes around and keeps doing it despite me asking her not to. I don't like the small and have a young daughter and don't want it in her home. My friend thinks I'm being fussy and oversensitive.

Sorry I meant I don't like the smell

Stop letting her come round.

Mrsjayy · 08/09/2022 11:00

Just stop inviting her to your house, she clearly doesn't respect you enough to not vape.

Vaping doesn't bother me, personally, but if you don't like it YANBU at all to ask people not to do it in your house. Lots of people dislike others vaping around them, so your request for people not to vape in your house is not at all unusual or over-sensitive, and your friend is a dick for not respecting your preferences in your own home. She sounds like a rotten friend, to be honest.

My brother vapes and he always goes outside to do it when he comes to my house, even though I've never asked him to!

My 16 yo son is vaping in his room and it's driving me mad. It stinks and he denies it but it's very obviously happening. How can we make him stop ? Ive taken all the ones I've found but I need to him to stop in the house and nothing seems to be getting through
