I'm a floating voter, I've voted Tory in the past and will again. I think that voting for the same party every time is as daft as not voting at all and it's the floating voters that make the country a democracy. The nice thing about being a floater is that I could go either way at any time, and I always give the new person a chance whether I voted for them or not. I've actually warmed to Liz Truss over the first couple of days. Only time will tell if she does a good job or not.
But the thing about the left the annoys me the most, is the whinging, we have had the most diverse cabinets in history over the last few years, all Tory governments but it's still not enough. It like
"We need more people of colour"
"what?? Not Nadhim, he's a man!!"
"We need more women"
"eh? Not Therese! she's fat!"
"We need more women of colour"
"Duh! I wasn't talking about Kemi, I disagree with her!"
Now I would agree we need more people that have been to state school in government, but Gordon Brown, Margaret Thatcher, Harold Wilson, Edward Heath, all went to State school but we rarely hear about that as a way of encouraging kids into politics.
But as to why I would vote Tory again, (even though I think we desperately need a change of government and I would normally vote labour at the next election) is because, as for so many women is that only the Tories know what a woman is. Now, you'll get people saying (I'm sure it's been said already on here, not rtft) that there are much more important things at stake such as taxes, energy crisis and yes, those things are incredibly important but if a party can't sort out a fundamental issue that has grown far bigger than it should have because everyone has ignored it, then I have no faith in them to sort out the other issues.
Trans activism should never have got as far as it has, and the only reason it has is because it's men (TW) who are pushing it.
