To ask for Team call ideas

Every fortnight my area does a forced fun Teams meeting. We are given a theme and have to put on a background and talk about it. For example what's our dream holiday destination, baby photos, favorite peice of clothing, best festival decoration etc.

It's pretty dull listening to 20 people but last time was ideal dinner party guest. The self proclaimed area joker said Hitler. Apart from not being in the slightest bit funny, we have 2 openly gay men and at least one Jewish person in our team so thankfully he was shut down pretty quickly. I don't know if he was spoken to afterwards.

Next week it's my turn to host and I haven't a clue. Unfortunately I need to make more of an effort than normal after the last one.

Any suggestions of oh so hilarious generic Teams themes?

We did cringiest first date stories. Was quite an eye opener.

We have to do something similar🙄

Someone once did a quiz. In one round we had to guess whether the words displayed were names of cheeses or names of service stations…in the next round, we had to guess if the words displayed were IKEA products or foreign swear words…

Obscure, and admittedly a lot of it was down to how they delivered it, but did generate quite a few laughs!

Unfortunately it has been decreed that it has to be a talk about the thing on your background chat. I think one of the managers hates quizzes and stuff like that.

I'm just a minion who has no say in anything. A few months ago I tentatively suggested reducing the "fun" meetings to every 3 or even 4 weeks because we had tight work deadlines and that hour plus could actually be spent doing work but it was not seen as a positive contribution. 🤣

Musical instruments you play (or what you'd like to play if you don't).

If you're lucky you'll have somebody good who'll agree to play for you, so everyone else can get away with saying less!

Do a game of scatagories- if you google you can find one online that you can screen share.

Kahoots do some good quizzes they have some pre made or you can make your own. People go to a weblink and submit their answers on phone. I’m a miserable bitch and I don’t mind this as forced fun
