To move backwards?

Hello, I’ll try to keep it brief,

so I started a new job about 2 months ago and I am hating it. I think they bodged the description because some of the things on there are not actually in my role. I have the right background but need to be trained, however my manager is really busy herself and doesn’t really have time to do the training, so I’m kind of left to muddle my way through.
i was actually happy enough in my previous role, although did feel quite stuck progression wise, but I’m not the best at voicing my frustrations. I wasn’t actively looking for a new role, just answered the phone one day to an unknown number (don’t know why) and it was a recruiter. During the interview process I felt quite uneasy and didn’t have that good gut feeling, it was pretty much my partner who persuaded me to take the job. Admittedly it was the money which made me leave, I got about a 15k increase. I was talking to someone from my previous company and they said they’d love to have me back, there’s been some managerial changes and my role has more progression plans now. The only thing is I would have to go back to my original salary and wait for pay rises (which I believe would come, I’d been there 2 years and had 2). The salary was comfortably enough to pay for my bills, spending and savings. So WIBU to go back? My partner thinks I’d be stupid to, but I was happy before; liked my colleagues, had flexible working, good salary etc. Now I’m unhappy and have anxiety going to work, sometimes I wake up at 4am and lay there dreading the alarm going off.

Go back to your old job, I know things are getting tighter for everyone with all the cost of living crisis, but that's not going to change anytime soon. You've got to put yourself first and if you know you'll be happier back in your old job I'd take it back!!

Yes, thank you, I think I will move back. Now just for the awkward conversation with my manager 😬
