Quick Facebook question.....

I made a Facebook post earlier and tagged my partner in it. One of my partner's friends, who I am not friends with myself (either in RL or on FB), added an offensive comment to my post (aimed at my partner not me - he clearly thought it was banter, but it was frankly vile and offensive). So, anyway, I deleted his comment from my post and blocked him so he can't see any of my future posts that I tag my partner in.

My question is... Will the friend be notified that I removed his comment and blocked him? I've never done this before on FB.

I don't want to cause issues with DP's mates but seriously, he needs new ones as some of them are complete tools 🙄

No, he won't.

Slimfitblouse · 05/09/2022 15:53

He won't get notifications.

AllThatFancyPaintsAsFair · 05/09/2022 15:54

No, you don't get notified if someone has blocked you, that would slightly defeat the purpose and there's no notification of deleting a comment either

Perfect, thank you!

he won't get notified, but, if he goes back to see your picture again to see his hilarious comment he won't be able to find it or your account and it'll be obvious he's blocked.

fbquestion · 05/09/2022 15:57

Ahh.. so if he hypothetically was to wonder why DP hadn't responded to his hilarious comment... and he clicked on DP's profile to look at posts he's tagged in, for example, he wouldn't see any posts by me? Thus alerting him to the blocking?

Tbh I don't know why I care what he thinks, his comment was honestly disgusting. Just don't want DP to be funny about me blocking his mates 🙄

Oh yes it's obvious when someone blocks you. You just don't get a 'so and so has blocked you' notification.

Merryoldgoat · 05/09/2022 15:59

Why would your DP care if you booked his friend who makes offensive comments?
