To think she should have let my child have the balloon?

We were out earlier at a chain pub style restaurant and they had a stand with some balloons on for children to have.

My son (4) went up to get one which happened to be the last but just as he was going up, a woman at a table closer got up and got it (it was very obvious my son was going for it and she turned around to him and said oh sorry).

She then walked back to her table and gave it to a baby sat in a high chair who couldn't have been over 8 months old.

AIBU to think she should have let my son take it rather than giving it to a baby who basically dropped it after 2 seconds and didn't look at it again.

I would have asked if there were any more balloons, then after sorting that out, I would have walked past her chair and knocked into it, and gone 'oh sorry'

Would you really have done this? If so, what a nasty piece of work you are. But I assume you really wouldn't have the bollocks to do this in real life.

Also, why would you do it? The woman did nothing wrong. She was there first.

I remember this thread as I thought it was crappy of the other mum at the time!

YABU. She had a child too. If I turned around and a little kid was under my feet I’d probably smile and say “oh sorry” too, I wouldn’t have connected the dots about why they were under my feet until I sat down most likely 🙈 sorry OP

Why is your child any more important than someone else's. ? You could have asked the staff for another
