Penis on neighbours wall- WWYD

I live in what is known in my town as quite a “posh area”, it’s kind of a large cul de sac. Really not trying to sound snotty but just want to give a background on the area so it makes sense how odd this is.

About 8 months ago one of my neighbours had his house “graffitied” with a very very large penis on the front of it. We were all mortified but the neighbour just laughed it off. We presumed he would just contact the police and get it covered up and that would be the end of it.

For the first few weeks we kept bringing it up to said neighbour about when he was going to get it covered up, and a host of excuses was said which at the time sounded believable. Think along the lines of “police want to come check it out to gather evidence etc” “decorator was due to come today but was sick.

Fast forward 8 months and it is STILL there, the neighbours have all offered to pay for it, keep nagging for it gone. I absolutely hate it, every-time I drive home from work it’s the first thing you can see. It makes the whole street look so run down. One neighbour has had their house for sale and every viewer has mentioned it. Im so embarrassed when friends and family come over and it’s what they see.

basically if he’s refusing to get it covered up removed where do we go from here? Has anyone experienced similar. I know it’s such a first world problem but coming out of my house and seeing a huge penis is just horrible. Also I know it’s his property but it’s not exactly a butterfly surely there would be rules protecting against this if it’s an inappropriate item.

Contact the council, even though its private property I think there will be some sort of rule about offensive images etc

they'll only only be interested if it's a new erection

nervousgiggler · 03/09/2022 19:37

I really don’t believe this is true 😂

Walkden · 03/09/2022 19:39

Yes! 😂

Walkden · 03/09/2022 19:42

Sounds like you neighbour doesn't have any balls tbh.

BowiesJumper · 03/09/2022 19:42

I agree with the others who have said - wait for him to go out and get it painted over. (Does he have a ring doorbell or cameras?).

How big is it??

steakzilla · 03/09/2022 19:43

Willy notice if you just paint over it?

Sorry this is happening to you, OP. Must be a real ball ache.

limitededitionbarbie · 03/09/2022 19:44

MissPoldark · 03/09/2022 19:47

Yeah, I think we really need a photo OP. I was going to ask for a dick pic but thought better of it

Just paint over it yourself, deny all knowledge if challenged.

I agree with paint over it yourself. It obviously bothers you more than it does him so you deal with it. I don't see the need to be secretive though. Unless he likes it being there, he's not going to mind.

You can be guilty of the offence of causing harassment, alarm, distress if you display any writing, sign or other visible representation which is threatening, abusive or insulting.
He may not have done it but it's on his building & he's made no effort to cover it up.

Did you type that without laughing? I imagine it's a poorly drawn picture of a penis. Who the fuck is getting harassed?

Am I the only one who thought the title meant an amputated penis lying on the top of a wall? Blush My mind boggled.

Nope, me too and ditto! 😂

FriendOfDorothyGale · 03/09/2022 17:42

Does he think is could be a Banksy or in this case, a Wanksy?

😂

Fuckityfucksake · 03/09/2022 19:50

Is this the 2022 version of a dick pic
If no one will willingly look at one he will emblazon it so it can't be missed.
Bet ya he's done it himself.
It is weird he doesn't want rid.
I'm with the others above paint over it when he is out.

Just say "Sorry about that, I don't know what came over me"

RobertaFirmino · 03/09/2022 20:02

May I ask, is the member quite detailed? Or is it more of a basic outline, reminiscent of schoolboy japes? Also, could you tell us how big this penis is?

PeapodBurgundy · 03/09/2022 20:03

Can we all take a moment to appreciate the visual of little knitted knob covers for gargoyles? X-Rated yarn bombing 😂

stillvicarinatutu · 03/09/2022 20:03

Go over and tell him its cocking up the aesthetic appeal of the cul de sac. (Sorry )

(Seriously police will nott have waited 8 months to photograph it - if there's no suspect they'd give him a crime no and tell him to paint over it . There is no evidence to gather . He's giving you a cock and bull story .

MadameMaxGoesler · 03/09/2022 20:03

Report it to the council as a racist graffito (the pedants are revolting) and it will be gone within the week.

viques · 03/09/2022 20:04

Vecnasnurse · 03/09/2022 18:54

Ta-da!

That is just a knob with wings. Fooling no one.

OP you need to get your neighbours round and paint a nativity scene like they did in Motherland. It will be fun ( well no, but you can sell it as fun, and think of the children!)

Xpologog · 03/09/2022 20:05

Contact your local council. I can vaguely remember something about them having a duty to cover up offensive graffiti. Say you are offended by the graffiti, inappropriate for children to see. If you get nowhere with whoever you speak to try your local councillor, their details are usually online.

ChagSameachDoreen · 03/09/2022 20:05

I bet he's leaving it up there to wind you lot up. Props if so! Very funny.
