the bloke that lives over the road from me works for a well known gas fitting compnay and every bloody morning between the hours of six and eight warms his extremely noisy van up (waking myslef and my kids every morning)

now if he actually needed to warm it up i would not have a prob with this but it's diesel (which dh says doesnlt need warming up, i have no idea) and he isnlt even in the van he ges back into the house and has a coffee or whatever, it's always for 15 mins and he does it in the summer too which is worse if you have the window open

just really winds me up that's all they have a small child too you would think they would be more considerate

I really hate that, I can't keep the windows open in the summer otherwise I find the house full of diesel fumes from some git parked under my flat running his motor to keep the heating or ac going. Yes, there's global warming and that's why it's hot, so let's just add to the carbon overload....

It's illegal to leave a car unattended on the road with the engine running. Next time it happens, call the police.

Or print a picture of the van, its registration number and a map of how to find it together with "I'm left unlocked and running with the keys in every morning between 6 and 8" and distribute a few hundred copies round the rougher parts of town.

Or tell his employer, if it's a company van.

Or pop across and pinch the keys.

Or the van.
