My son wanted a Tom and Jerry video and he picked the one he wanted in a blue box. When the video arrived it was in a yellow box, my computer was then down for three days so i was unable to check anything, when the comp was working i checked and the seller had sent the wrong video, i contacted them directly and they didnt respond but gave me a refund and didnt give any details to return the video, when i gave feedback i gave 2/5 and said they sent wrong video, when i checked the feedback yesterday they had responded and said that they had sent the right video but it was in a different colour case.........
www.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/seller/feedback.html?ie=UTF8&asin=&marketplaceSeller=1&seller=A2QV941AA5EZ8 G
I have checked again and the video is definetly wrong, i have now bought the correct video from a different seller and it has arrived safetly. I am so cross with the seller because i think they have made me look stupid when i am not! and also Amazon who appear to have women on their switchboards who's right hand doesnt appear to know what the left hand is doing! I wanted to know how to respond to the feedback from the seller and the women got me so cross that I put the phone down on them in the end. Can you tell that I am cross........ It almost puts me off buying from Marketplace Sellers!! Sorry Rant over...................

YANBU - I'd be annoyed too at being left feedback like that. They had already admitted that they sent you the wrong item by issuing a refund. I agree that you should email them and query why they felt the need to lie. Someone did this to my sister on ebay and ruined her 100% positive history, I'm not to hot on Amazon feedback but am guessing it works in the same way?

lottiejenkins · 22/01/2008 10:19

Im glad i have a free video! I'm cross at what they put in their feedback though will contact them and see if they can alter what they have said.......I dont want them to rip other people off. The annoying thing is that i dont normally buy from people with fairly low feedback ie under 98% You live and learn I suppose!!

their response was rude and inappropriate "seller does not understand"

i would clearly reply - no video is wrong. Your attitude is poor.

how does the feedback work? does your comment get put on there too?

lottiejenkins · 22/01/2008 11:01

I have emailed them and told them which one they have sent me and which one i was expecting and that i didnt like the way they worded their feedback
I doubt that will get on there though!

Having worked in customer care I can tell you that you are far more likely to get help if you are polite, from your post you come across as quite rude and if this is how you came across on the phone then I guess the Amazon woman probably just wanted to get rid of you.

I think 2/5 was a little harsh of you OK they sent the wrong item but they let you keep it and refunded you which is all they COULD do if they didnt have the exact one you required. I agree they should have communicated with you to let them know what was happening but a lot of traders are just people like us trying to make a bit extra cash rather than companies.

lottiejenkins · 22/01/2008 11:07

To be fair to me they should have been more careful and sent the correct video in the first place,,,,,,,,,,, If they wanted the video back they should have asked for it and I would have happily returned it!!

i am sorry you feel that you can tell by reading that I'm a rude person ContentiusCat, I can assure you that I am not. I merely expect people who work in "Customer Service" to know what they are doing and not keep saying "um" and "er" and to know how to read customer feedback..........

It means basically that she didnt know what she was doing,,,,,,,,,

I think the way the feedback works is you leave it and they can respond I dont think you can keep going back to edit it and add further comments or it could go on forever.

Generally if you read the help section it is all set out there I dont know about Amazon but I think you can remove the feedback on Ebay they best way to find out would be to contact your seller directly rather than going to Amazon.

If I were the seller I would not remove the comment unless you removed your rather unfair negative review.

lottiejenkins · 22/01/2008 11:26

It was the way they worded their response, They did not apologise and made out that it was my fault that they sent the wrong video! I shall now wait and see if they respond to my email.

The feedback left by lottie seems fair to me - they sent wrong item and issued refund when she contacted them - the reply in feedback left by them was rude. They used caps which is regarded as shouting, and tried to say she was stupid, after admitting they had sent wrong item? Surely there was a better way for them to reply.

And I've found Amazon to have bad customer service, although I put it down to the atress of christmas!

contentiouscat · 22/01/2008 11:39

They seem to be saying that the CONTENTS of the video are as advertised but that the producer has changed the COVER

I have never had much of a problem with Amazon but this was from a seller so in fact you should be dealing with the seller directly and not Amazon. Think of it as a shopping centre if you walked into Bluewater shopping centre and had bad service in Marks & Spencer you would complain to the SHOP customer services rather than Bluewater customer services.

Even allowing for the fact that they may have been misguided and sent a video with the wrong contents, they have tried to put it right promptly - if I were being HARSH the very worst review I would give would have been a 3.

They say that the cover is wrong not the contents!
