We've just come back from holiday, and I can't mind my Apple Watch which I left at home. The watch will obviously have run out of battery.

The FindMy app is pinging a signal everyday, and it's giving several addresses. Sometimes it's saying it's at our address. It's currently saying it's next door, and occasionally says it's 2 doors away.

I've turned the house upside down twice in an attempt to find it.

Is the biggest likelihood that it's somewhere in the house, but the app just gets the address wrong sometimes? Or is it possible I dropped it on the street before we left, and a neighbour has picked it up?

I found my airpod between the mattress and the mattress topper yesterday - it had been missing for weeks! I had given up all hope and then poof, found it as I made the bed. Still hope OP!

ilkleymoorbartat · 04/09/2022 00:03

I'VE STILL NOT FOUND IT argggh

Any luck?

ilkleymoorbartat · 04/09/2022 22:47

I've turned the house upside down multiple times. It's still pinging as being either in our house, next door, or a couple of doors down.

I've given up tbh.

Check coats and handbags or your suitcase for holes in the lining - I lost my keys like that once, I was certain I had dropped them into my handbag but couldn’t find them, turned out they’d actually fallen through a hole in the handbag lining so we’re trapped between the two layers.

SecretVictoria · 04/09/2022 22:54

Shoes, dressing gown pocket, sock drawer?

madmaxvecna · 04/09/2022 23:03

Mines always on tumble dryer pile, windowsill or side of mattress /sofa . Sometimes in the plate cupboard or fridge when I'm busy and brain dead! Have u checked in street or down side of your houses? Could it be on non or recycle bin? Or in a coat pocket ?

madmaxvecna · 04/09/2022 23:03

Or the car?!

ilkleymoorbartat · 04/09/2022 23:06

I'll do one last big turnover tomorrow before finally giving up hope. It's driving me to the edge of distraction so I need to give it a rest and get some perspective!
I'll report back if I find it. Thanks for all the ideas.

Bon outside?

Zonder · 04/09/2022 23:38

It's down the side of the cushion on the sofa.

SouperNoodle · 04/09/2022 23:41

Behind a dresser or bedside table

Thatboymum · 04/09/2022 23:45

It’s deffo dead because if you look at mine it tells me it’s fully charged yours doesn’t , so I suspect it’s deffo lying about the house somewhere but I would consider wiping it in a few days if you haven’t got it yet just incase

Try your underwear drawer. That's where I found my missing purse

larkstar · 05/09/2022 00:19

My wife gave me a piece of advice a long time ago - two things really - as she has always been good at finding things and I was notoriously bad - I took the advice to heart and it has made a huge difference - I am not at least as good as my wife at finding missing things - it's this a)you have to lift things up to find stuff - OK Iknow it sounds simple and obvious - maybe it was just me that wasn't doing enough of this - not sure but the key bit of advice was b) you have to believe you are going to find it - she said I looked like a person who was looking for stuff but had already made my mind up I wasn't going to find it - now I don't know why this has made such a difference...but it definitely has. I think I would rush around blinding looking - but not really "looking" if you see what I mean. HTH

Readinstead · 05/09/2022 00:20

Handbag. Lost things are always in a handbag!

MissCrowley · 05/09/2022 10:38

Sorry you still haven't found it.

Have you tried:
Coat pockets
Rucksacks
Any pockets of clothes which are in the ou dry basket and the Landry basket itself.

NiqueNique · 05/09/2022 10:46

Before you go to bed tonight say a prayer to St. Anthony (patron saint of lost things) asking him to help you find it.

Seems odd but anecdotally it really works well.

If that feels a step too far you can also ask your subconscious to tell you where it is, again before you go to sleep.

Your mind will sift through memories whilst you’re sleeping and you’ll likely remember and/or find it the next day.

ilkleymoorbartat · 05/09/2022 15:59

After another failed attempt at looking for it I'm going to pray tonight. The weird thing is I'm normally the one in the family who finds things, my partner, on the other hand, is awful at finding things.

Yes it can be inaccurate. Showed my iPad repeatedly at an address 2 doors away.It was tucked down the side of my bed 🤔

justcantgetenough · 05/09/2022 16:39

Sure it's not fell out back off drawer and into a cupboard or behind under it.

Check pockets off all coats, bags, sock, underwear drawers. Laundry baskets, behind picture frames, ornaments. Check inside anything with a lid. Check food cupboard it's not hiding behind something. Hidden draw in jewellery box? Check under and behind everything. Under plant pots. Inside mugs

Do you have anything in vaccum bags? You maybe put it in there.

But you know it will turn up when least expecting it to

ilkleymoorbartat · 05/09/2022 22:09

Omg. So after deciding I was going to park this for a while, something weird just happened.

I went to the gym which is 5 minutes away. I've been there a couple of times since I lost my watch and this has not happened before. When I got home I looked at the findmy app it says the watch is there!!!! At the gym!! Wtf. I only went in my shorts and T-shirt, holding my phone and airbuds. Nothing else at all. The watch is not in my shorts. Or In my T-shirt.

I just sprinted back up there and asked if it had been handed it aswell as looking around myself, but they don't have it.

It's now saying it's back at home with me. This is just some freaky glitch right? Maybe my phone location pinging as the watches location or something ? I am going insane with this!

Did you accidentally eat it?

CherrySocks · 05/09/2022 22:16

Is it in your shoes?

Verbena1 · 05/09/2022 22:17

Left in the loo?

ilkleymoorbartat · 05/09/2022 22:17

@Jedsnewstar I'm seriously considering that this must be the answer.
