To wonder what is out there in space that they’re not telling us?

Something is out there.

If you look into the sky you see a million different stars shining back at you. We are told these are all suns in the sky. And we are then told that in those million suns there is absolutely nothing out there? It’s not true. It’s very likely that they are already known about and have made themselves aware to us on many occasions. Why are we being kept in the dark again?

The truth is out there 🤔

Totally just read that in an X Files style voice over lol

Also the question we all really want to know

whats on Mars? Why is everyone so keen to get there? What are they hiding up there?

Because it is the closest potentially habitable planet so humans need to explore the idea of establishing a colony there in order to reduce the chance of our species being wiped out. Living on one planet only is very precarious. Living in one solar system is rather precarious also but nothing we can realistically do about that yet.

This ^^ is mind blowing.

The below is a more amusing take on it all:

Also my 5 year old is the keenest of all to go there, and I don't think he has any underhand motives related to a global conspiracy. 🤣 Just a keen sense of curiosity, a sense of adventure and a love of science. 😊

Get a telescope and you may start to forgive it a little. Jupiter looks awesome atm!

And I hate to be pedantic, but where would we live if there was no space? We kinda need it.

mydogsteppedonabee · 28/08/2022 04:03

I know the answers to all of it. I just can't say on here bc Bill Gates is listening. And the Clintons.

Is it possible that Meghan Markle uncovered the truth that the family had been hiding for many many years, and decided she couldn’t take it? She thought the people needed to know what was being hidden from them. Is that why she did Megxit? Is it going to be revealed in her podcasts?

one way or another something isn’t stacking up

FFS.

Ponderingwindow · 28/08/2022 04:15

Yes, there is something up there. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that we are not the only life in the universe.

the government isn’t hiding anything from us. There is no conspiracy. The universe is huge and time is vast. You need two sentient species to overlap in time long enough for signals to travel the vast amount of time it takes to traverse through space and just happen to be in the direction that someone is listening. Many of the stars we see in the sky are already dead and so are the beings who lived there.

Aside from some of the more colourful theories...

If we make the fairly safe assumption that at some point in the universe's billions of years long history that life exists elsewhere than earth we still have the following problems.

  1. Time we are occupying a very small section of time as an "intelligent" life form. To make contact with an alien life form you would have to also assume a more advanced intelligent life form just so happens to exist in the same time frame as you

  2. Distance To travel the kind of distances required to seek out other life, you would have to have figured out a way to manipulate gravity or some other method to travel faster than the speed of light. The amount of energy required to do this would increase the mass of the vessel you are trying to move exponentially, so it requires more energy to move, so it becomes bigger etc etc. E=MC2These are not just rules for humans, but for any life trying to travel these distances. Based on current understanding, it cannot be done

  3. If an intelligent life form happened to exist at the same time as us and had somehow figured out how to travel across these distances, and found Earth, what could they possibly gain from making contact? We are comparatively stupid. We are destroying our planet. We can have no possible advantages to enlighten them with. Other than as some kind of interstellar curiosity to them as "oh yes, there is primitive life there". We would be practically algae in comparison.

  4. There is an assumption if alien life exists, we would recognise it as life. We are assuming life anywhere must look the same as it does on our tiny fleck of a universe we simply do not understand.

So for all those reasons, I think yes it is likely, out there at some time and somewhere, other life exists. I suspect for the entire life span of the human race, it will be speculative and never confirmed for all the reasons above. I thinl thr most likely explanation of the Fermi paradox is a combination of technological advancement leads to self destruction/advanced civilisations have a propensity to destroy themselves.

I know the queen recently branched out into having tea with Peruvian bears, but the notion she is harvesting an alien race to seize more power is bonkers.

Could you clarify who you mean by 'they'?

SkirridHill · 28/08/2022 08:08

I fell asleep reading this and am so glad it hasn't been deleted. Maybe that's part of the conspiracy though? Gives us the illusion of free speech.

The Markle bit in particular was inspired.

wb3 · 28/08/2022 08:10

I pray that there's intelligent life somewhere up in space
Cos there's bugger all down here on earth

BMW6 · 28/08/2022 09:45

OP is either having a laugh or is suffering some kind if psychosis. If it's the latter I really hope her children are imaginary

GeorgeorRuth · 28/08/2022 09:51

I was wondering where the OP is this morning too.

Novum · 28/08/2022 09:52

I'd love it if Meghan Markle suddenly announced that Buck House is a Tardis and the Queen is using aliens to control the entire world. Piers Morgan would have a seizure.

GeorgeorRuth · 28/08/2022 09:58

Although I suspect this will go 'pooof' in a bit there are a lot of functioning adults who believe this stuff and by shutting down threads further believe the truth is being silenced.
The one I know works in a NMW job, married, kids etc but why if he knows more than everyone else why he doesnt infiltrate 'them' to expose it as he is so much cleverer than the rest of us.

KimberleyClark · 28/08/2022 10:27

In reality, scientists would be shouting from the rooftops at the first hint at even a trace of long dead microscopic maybe-life. I mean we're often getting headlines that a planet has been discovered lightyears away that maybe just might have the right conditions for life, or trace gases in the atmosphere that could theoretically be suggestive of life. If we found actual real sapient aliens? A technological advanced civilisation? We would know.

This. Heard just the other day James Webb has found an exoplanet with carbon dioxide in its atmosphere.
