Aldi beans have gone up from 25p to 38p

that's 13p per tin. I used to get 4 for £1.00 and those same 4 are costing me £1.52.
I just cant get my head around how I'm going to afford to feed my children if the basics keep shooting up this much. I wouldn't mind so much the luxury items going up by the same rate but the basics. Bread is 65p too for the cheaper one. I'm sure it was 45p before.
cheese was £1.89 and now it's £2.19.
I was going to buy some birdseye fish fingers on Iceland (I'm an aldi girl i was just passing Iceland and thought why not I like the crispy battered ones as a treat instead of breadcrumbs) and it was £7 for a pack of 48. They would be about £4 before and I'd only get them on offer for £3.50.

How can this be? I'm a thrifty shopper, I batch cook and freeze I shop the bargains. Its really getting me down. I can't even think about electricity. I just keep putting that at the back of my mind.

Re men and women's spending, how many betting shops are going into administration? Women's spending is more visual. But actually I know plenty who are learning to do their own. When I was a LP on benefits I used to go to a supplier and buy professional quality eyelashes, tan and hair colour. We'd have a night in each others houses were we'd do treatments, one woman learned how to do gel nails (I grow mine). We wouldn't spend a fraction of what men would in the pub while watching football, that's without betting, taxis etc.

This is going to cause a health crisis because people won't be able to eat well and keep warm. I've already bought my poncho dressing gown from Primark. The heavy/fleece pjs will be in within weeks. But because of my health condition I need the air to not be too cold.

Bloody hell, really hits home doesn't it

That’s so upsetting.

Having a girly night in doing eachothers nails and stuff sounds lovely actually

you're right in my case, and My mum's mum's most likely my nans.
I fact all of the men in my family have expensive hobbies and there is no question of them cutting back on them. They won't. But I've stopped eating in the morning and don't give my children pudding anymore.

Thanks for pointing that out to me. Dh wouldn't put a £50 purchase for a game past me but will moan if I buy 2 boxes of cereal.

That is so sad.

You dont know how you are going to feed the kids, whereas DH happily buys a £50 computer game.

It's one of my favourite things to do. We've always done it, but now my Best Friend's girls are older (20, 17, 15- I have 3 boys not interested!) I adore heading over with other best friend and we do each other's nails/ neck and back massage/ foot massage/ facial. Lots of tea and home baking too. My favourite times ever.

We’ve noticed this, our lidl shop is now not far off what our acado basica shop was. I’ve found some fresh veg is more expensive, some is the same price but tiny, especially cauliflower.

We’ve been away (Canada) and the food prices are much higher here, we paid £2.80 for a single cauliflower, 300g of carrots were £1.80, peppers £1 each!

Remember if you shop in Lidl to use your Lidl plus card, if you spend £200 in a month you’ll get a £10 off voucher thats valid for a week.

I might nick this idea for my daughters birthday, instead of a party just do eachothers nails and hair with cumbersome for our eyes.

Bad news everyone, just been to aldi and their 400g blocks of cheese are now £2.39. up from £1.89 last year.
I also went to grab some spaghetti which used to be 20p but they seem to have stopped stocking the basic value one and the next one up is 69p.

Great idea. All bring a nail shade/ oil/ cream/ hair product. You'll have a great time. Burn a lovely candle and good background music- perfect
