Suddenly appeared, doesn't itch, but only in my left arm and left side of chest. No where else.

Just wondering if you've had covid or another virus recently?

I've got the same looking rash (mine are hives). Mine started on my upper inner arms and spread over my chest, bottom, lower back, now legs. I've been taking antihistamines every morning, now have prescription ones which are stronger.

I'm due to have a blood test next week and a face to face appt with the gp following the results.

It may not be related, but I had covid again a couple of weeks before they came, so it could well be post viral on me, although the blood test is to eliminate anything else.

I've had then about 3 weeks now, they are itchy in the morning when I wake up, which disappears totally a few hrs after the antihistamines and the hives fade a little. They stay in one area for a few days and pop up elsewhere.

Just giving this info in case yours may be similar

Missmarps · 21/08/2022 20:51

Ah, cross message. Didn't have fluid in mine. Could it be chicken pox? Do they itch?

Funnily enough I did have covid for the second time about 3 weeks ago! I said that to my mum, if I didn't know better I'd of thought chicken pox minus the itch and my daughter has just recovered from chicken pox but can't be as I had chicken pox as a child.

I hope you get to the bottom of yours and it clears up soon for you.

Looks like shingles, particularly if it’s isolated to one part/side of the body and blisters are fluid filled.

Takeitonthechin · 21/08/2022 20:57

Looks like you've been bitten with a gnat or flea

dementedpixie · 21/08/2022 20:58

What does the chest rash look like?
Shingles affects 1 side of the body

Missmarps · 21/08/2022 20:59

Thank you.

I've attached a photo of my leg that I just took. Sorry about the quality, I'm in the bath 😝 This is very faded from this morning because of the antihistamines

Raera · 21/08/2022 21:00

Agree with bites. Not shingles because it doesn't follow a nerve pathway, shingles is around one side of your chest or head and face.

lynkat · 21/08/2022 21:02

Would this be something I should visit gp about or just pop into chemist. I will take pic of chest ones.

Just read that your daughter recently had chicken pox. You can't catch shingles from chicken pox, but can give chicken pox to someone if you have shingles.

However, shingles can appear if the chicken pox virus is lying dormant in you (you've had it previously) and your immune system is low, which it could be after covid I guess. Unless you had this first then passed the virus on to your daughter in the form of chicken pox?

Missmarps · 21/08/2022 21:06

Do any of them merge together to form larger 'spots'?

dementedpixie · 21/08/2022 21:07

Doesn't look like shingles though. Also shingles passes on chicken pox through the fluid from the shingles blisters so the timing is all wrong as CP has a 10-21 day incubation period.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 21/08/2022 21:07

Take some antihistamine and use Anthisan cream. Piriton liquid is best as you can take it multiple times through the day.

lynkat · 21/08/2022 21:08

More are now appearing and starting to itch. So weird. Is it possible they are bites just on one side?

No, not that I can see

I've noticed similar spots on my son this eve - had a look on the Children's Health forum and someone posted about some similar spots on their child and the consensus was molloscum contagiousum (which sounds like something out of Harry Potter). Could it be that?

I saw you've recently had Covid - I think this poster's child had too. I wonder whether that could be linked to the rash 🤔

KeepYaHeadUp · 21/08/2022 21:11

This thread, OP

What are these lumps? www.mumsnet.com/Talk/childrens_health/4616197-what-are-these-lumps

dementedpixie · 21/08/2022 21:11

Its not molluscum as they don't just pop up suddenly like that and look like skin coloured skin tags rather than blisters
