Suddenly appeared, doesn't itch, but only in my left arm and left side of chest. No where else.

They really do look like the ones I've got.
I don't want to railroad your thread in one direction but the first day my spots looked just like that. Day 2 I had more and they itched, more day 3 etc. After a few day the hives were joining together.

I'd try antihistamines, hopefully it will relieve the itching and if thry are still there in a week or do call your gp for a blood test.

Don't take steroids though (which I did 🤨)because a blood test can't be done within a week of taking them.

Thank you, I will pick up some antihistamines tomorrow and see how I go. I wonder then if it is an effect of covid!?

Lots of things can cause chronic hives including post viral. The gp said you never really know the cause but obviously it can be covid.

Just to say though, piriton type antihistamines didn't work so I got stronger ones on prescription. I've been taking these for a week and these haven't worked either 🙄

I think these are some better pictures

This is weird. I have the fact same rash. No idea what has caused it. It is really bad down my right side from my armpit, looks horrible! It started Friday morning. Just took my first antihistamine.

dementedpixie · 21/08/2022 21:11

Its not molluscum as they don't just pop up suddenly like that and look like skin coloured skin tags rather than blisters

Aah noted, thanks.

hewouldwouldnthe · 21/08/2022 21:49

Chicken pox?

picklemewalnuts · 21/08/2022 21:52

Monkey pox?

Peonypetalperfume · 21/08/2022 21:55

As someone else has said, if it’s just one side of your body it could be shingles. I had it recently and it wasn’t much fun. It did start with spots and then the rash became dark purple and hurt a lot!

Wowzel · 21/08/2022 22:00

You also need to consider that it could be monkeypox.

hopsalong · 21/08/2022 22:04

To me it looks like mosquito (or similar) bites. I can see the puncture mark on one of the spots.

We don't normally have ANY mosquitos at home in England but have had a real problem with them at night this year. I think it's the hot weather. Try an antihistamine?

whenwillthemadnessend · 21/08/2022 22:09

I thought monkey pox too but maybe that's just media hype if your not in the high risk group.

lynkat · 21/08/2022 22:16

Highly unlikely to be monkey pox thankfully

How the heck would I find that out?

I was going to suggest monkey pox too. Any other symptoms?

JanuaryParty · 21/08/2022 22:33

Looks like chicken pox. Which you definitely can have more than once especially if your immune system is a bit low.

Given your DD had just had it I'd say chicken pox, I've had it twice btw

No other symptoms at all

Mykittensmittens · 21/08/2022 22:40

I’d also say chicken pox. I had it twice. Once as a child, then once as an adult 4 weeks after being exposed to a friends child who had it.

my DD also had it twice. Once mildly as a baby, then when her subsequent Brother had it badly as a baby and she was about 4, she got it again, but full wallop that time.

When I had it as an adult I felt a bit ‘off’ for a day or two, then around day 4/5 the rash popped up.

calamine ointment, eurax cream and porridge baths all helped. In the intervening time between exposure and appearance I’d also been poorly with other things and has others have said, I’m sure it was my compromised immune system. I’ve had shingles since also, again when run down.

Tandora · 21/08/2022 22:43

OP this looks/ Sounds exactly like chicken pox. You can get it more than once- my mother has had it 3 times and my sister twice!

GigantosaurusRex · 21/08/2022 22:45

I know a number of people who have developed shingles after a covid infection and if that is the case then the sooner you can get antivirals the better. I would show it to a pharmacist tomorrow or try and get GP advice.

Oioicaptain · 21/08/2022 22:47

Have you been using suncream on your legs. This looks like heat rash/infected skin follicules. It can be caused by trapped sweat. Suncreams can block the pores.
