To not want to be friends with fire signs

I know if I read this I would probably think I was crazy.
but it’s dawned on me I don’t get on with fire signs! I like them as aquaintences but I always feel let down by them
as im quite deep and emotional and I find fire signs to be about image abs quite hard hearted.

Lol star signs/zodiac is a load of rubbish. Used to believe in it but it's utter crap! So yeah YABU for wanting to write people off based on what time of year they were born because you think that somehow gives them undesirable traits... reminds me of other types of discrimination based in "undesirable" traits... 😂 nonsense.

Op, speaking as a Sagittarian and I know loads of others (including my mum), we are an argumentative star sign. Love a stimulating, challenging conversation but get a bit carried away sometimes. I can be very argumentative/passionate and I need to reign it in sometimes. I would say I am a typical Sagittarian (hopefully not too selfish and intense though).

One thing you will get with Sagittarians though is honesty.

I find star signs interesting but a friend is a friend, whatever their sign. Many other more important factors will make the person they are.

I know it's about when you are born in the year but I honestly dont know what an earth , fire and air sign are. I wouldn't have a clue what heading my friends come under or indeed what their birth sign is, just the day and month they were born. I mostly don't know the year either. The year is supposed to be significant in some cultures as well isnt it?

So nobody has the right to judge/belittle/criticise OP for believing this stuff but you have the right to judge/belittle/criticise others based on the month they were born?

I'm not keen on fire signs but the things I really dislike are those yellow cone things that caution you about a wet floor in a supermarket.

Isn’t the theory that water (Scorpio, cancer and Pisces) enriches earth (so suited to earth signs Capricorn, Taurus, Virgo).
Water is shaken by air (irritated by air signs Aquarius, Libra & Gemini).
Water puts out (can be deflating for) fire (Sagittarius, Leo and Aries)?

At best it’s a clear case of confirmation bias for those people whose birthday you actually know.

I could say, ah yes, my horrible STBXH is a typical Leo. He has to be the centre of attention and can’t cope if he’s not. He gets nasty if he’s not getting enough attention. He thinks he’s incredible - good looking, brilliant in every way (better than everyone else).

But that would be cherry picking the bits of the vague description that fit him. And ignoring the bits that don’t.

I know plenty of Leos who are not like STBXH. Because it’s around 1/12 of the population so there’s quite a bit of variation.

The next time someone asks my star sign I'm going to think twice about telling them. (I'm not joking) Being an aries isn't as innocent as I thought it was. I mean , I know it's rubbish but I didn't know there are actually people who judge whole star signs with personality traits! I always assumed people who were interested in star signs knew it was a bit of fun. How does this fit in with the whole nature/nurture debate btw? I don't expect anyone to answer, just wonder if this is something anyone has read about?

I'm a fire sign , but not the typical type. Everything you read about them isn't really me.
I get on well with Leo men and women though and Leo women are strong characters !

I think it’s fair enough to just lie. Pick whatever star sign you fancy at any given moment. Today I am going to be a Gemini, for example.
