Downstairs bog … I’m thinking it needs something on the bare wall but what? It’s a small room so don’t want anything too in your face. I was thinking one of those old fashioned “soap co.” Pictures (usually a picture of a cow in a bath or something!)

DH says it’s fine as it is.

AIBU to think it needs something on the wall?

A bin :)

PinkSyCo · 10/08/2022 11:16

It needs a new loo roll, put on the correct way this time and a splash of colour and/or more plants.

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 10/08/2022 11:27

Two large mirrors opposite each to create an 'infinity' feel. Mind you it could make your cloakroom appear to be teaming with people when you pop in there!👫👬👭

Are we on about the diffuser reeds? 😂

Yep🤓☺☺

In my defence, I did think that was a very weird place for them🤣

🤷🏼‍♀️

Creepymanonagoatfarm · 10/08/2022 11:28

My downstairs loo has giraffe wallpaper!!
And giraffe accessories!!

😂😂 I thought that when I took the photo but then decided nobody would notice … of course they would 😂

I’m just shocked no one has mentioned the toilet brush!

Maymaymay · 10/08/2022 11:30

I think some hanging plants in the corner and a nice cafe curtain. Or wooden blind.

Shuuu🤫

I think that is an automatic ban topic...

We are all pretending its hidden behind the plant.

Floralnomad · 10/08/2022 11:35

Why have you got a fan / expel air thing when you have a window , can you get rid of that as it’s really distracting to me . More colour is what is needed on the walls and a nice blind . Keep the ducks .

It originally had a big ugly white dusty vent there. DH put this chrome one in its place and it does look better than it did. Still not sure why it’s there though!

I think I’m going to paint the walls a pale green, get a hanging basket with a trailing plant to hang in front of the blind, move the plant and get some kind of bog roll holder there … maybe the giraffe or elephant ones I’ve seen as I do love my animals …

Still unsure about the wall though! Would a large framed mirror look daft opposite the sink mirror?

wish I could find some small framed prints but the only ones I’ve seen are boring (single leaves etc!)

I'd paint the walls black and add more plants.

Furrydogmum · 10/08/2022 11:41

My downstairs loo is a similar to yours same sink, spacing, round mirror etc The 2 pics are Sam Toft for a pop of colour and the one reflected in the mirror is from Dunelm.

Black would look amazing!

prettyteapotsplease · 10/08/2022 11:44

May I be the 33rd person to point out that the toilet paper is the wrong way round? After flogging yourself I'd suggest a nice trio of small fancy mirrors or paintings.

A narrow shelf just wide enough for a makeup bag so guests can freshen up their makeup.

Haha.

My mate comes round to mine with a bottle of wine , In her PJ’s .

Cam22 · 10/08/2022 11:46

The loo roll is incorrectly placed.😳

Mirrors on both walls is fun if you want to see the back of you own head, but prints/pictures would probably be nicer

Tabitha005 · 10/08/2022 11:54

I'd definitely go for a bold wallpaper design.

BlueberryJammy · 10/08/2022 12:01

Maybe a wall covered in favorite family and travel photographs, stuck on with bluetac

EleanorRavenclaw · 10/08/2022 12:09

We have very similar taste 😂. I love this picture there are dog ones as well.

I never knew cloakroom was code for toilet. Different world

chesirecat99 · 10/08/2022 12:25

The focal point when you enter the room is the window. It needs something tall/long in the window to draw the eye eg a vase or trailing/tall plant and something to frame it eg blinds.

The focal point when you are using the room is going to be the back of the door. You could hang a picture on the door. You aren't really going to get a good view of anything on the side walls and it could make the room feel claustrophobic having pictures that you can't really see or shelves with decorative items that cut into the narrow space.

A cluster of mirrors above the sink could work, as that is the third focal point when you are using the room. I think something like the grouping in the final picture of the hall console table in this link could work.
