About a rubbish dinner

My DH made dinner today which was roast pork leg and gravy with cherry tomatoes in vinaigrette. It was really weird the way the cold vinaigrette mingled with the hot gravy. AIBU to think that this is a rubbish meal?

He made lunch for me as well which was a “salad” of cherry tomatoes with a dressing made from milk, flour, mustard and tarragon vinegar.

Was this dressing cooked and then allowed to go cold or were you served a dressing containing raw flour?

It was cooked and then cooled in a basin of ice water before being used to dress the cherry tomatoes. It was about 10% as nice as ordinarily vinaigrette salad dressing and a lot more complicated.

Surely a normal meal consists of a meat/protein, some veg, and a carbohydrate. I’d have been asking where the potatoes were.

Did he think that was a good meal?
Is he low carbing?

He's trying out for masterchef.

I've done some fine dining and it can be lovely but can also be wierd. Last time it was a lot of money and we stopped at KFC on the way home.

Sounds like he put in a lot of effort but just missed the mark.

Has he ever criticised or questioned your cooking?

No he hasn’t ever questioned or criticised my cooking. We do about half the cooking each. I normally cook more than two food items for a main meal though (unless it’s something like Spagetti Bolognese.)
