I think we might have a different definition of distasteful.

Personally what I find distasteful includes:

• man who cheats on his wife (while she is having treatment for cancer...) with much younger member of staff
• woman who has affair with much older married colleague
• man who constantly has affairs and cannot quite keep track of how many kids he has
• man who gets wealthy donors to pay for wall paper, tree houses and wedding parties
• man who makes a mess of being a PM and constantly lies to the public.

I imagine Boris is pretty good company when he's not running the country. He can be very funny.
People who know him who have been interviewed say they like him.
He is the most terrible snob. I wouldn't want to be driven home from a party by him either. Of course certain people like him, or say they do, at least for a time.

I don’t think his children have anything to do with him anymore, they certainly didn’t attend the wedding last year anyway. He did cheat on their Mother multiple times including when she was going through chemo so I’d struggle to have a relationship with my Dad after that too.
