My adult dd believed that veins were on one side of the body and arteries on the other and couldn't understand a) how the blood passed from one side to the other and b) how the side with the veins was as healthy as the artery side as it didn't get oxygenated blood. After I explained that the diagram from her biology class was a representation and not what actually happened inside a body she rang some of her friends and 3 out of 4 believed the same.
