the bloke was only making conversation. TBH, I think you were rude to him

BreeVanDerCampLGJ · 19/01/2008 17:47

Unecessarily rude of you IMO.

lizandlulu · 19/01/2008 17:47

some people just want to make conversation to be polite.

lulumama · 19/01/2008 17:47

maybe he also likes them and wanted to make conversation...... idle chit chat is fine by me, so YABU i think..... at least bloke didn;t have a go at him for being a hoodie

Fireflyfairy2 · 19/01/2008 17:49

It wasn't a stupid question really.

And at 16 i'd like to think my son could answer for himself

2shoes · 19/01/2008 17:55

itis ok he lol so did i. and he then told us how he knew the old drummer and stuff. so don't think i offended him

lulumama · 19/01/2008 17:57

all;s well that ends well then!

Bluestocking · 19/01/2008 17:59

I don't think it's a stupid question at all. I often see kids wearing retro band T-shirts, because they're retro-chic, for bands that they probably know nothing about. And you were lucky, he could have said "Iron Maiden? What an absolute pile of shit."

dooley1 · 19/01/2008 18:01

I think it's nice a starnger spoke to a teenager in a hoodie. Most of us cross the street

2shoes · 19/01/2008 18:13

ok i was ur. never thought of the retro bit.
still i made a twit of myself. went into a metal shop and asked for a mcr wristband, ds phsl. and the bloke looked at me in a very odd way.......oops

OP posts:
LolaTheShowgirl · 19/01/2008 18:41

What is a mcr wristband?

2shoes · 19/01/2008 22:24

Hang on, 2shoes is wondering why people ask silly questions?!

2shoes · 19/01/2008 22:34

i know i felt a right pratt when i realised what i had said. it was bad enough the other week when i went in without ds and asked about blink 182 but they let me off as I was old

I think what you said was very rude and immature. If someone asks a polite question, answer politely. There's nothing wrong with starting a conversation. Also the question wasn't directed at you, but at your son.

2shoes · 20/01/2008 10:07

what a good idea. post on a thread when the op has already conceded that she has been ur and explained that she wasn't rude and both her and said man lol.
