Mine arrived about an hour ago.
I'm actually surprised at how much was in there, the veg was seems good quality and the meat was still cool with the ice packs being only partially defrosted.
The bags of salad leaves were squashed flat at the bottom of the veg side, with potatoes etc on top - which is very poor packing.
I do wonder about 25% carbon savings mentioned in the booklet, given the small portions of things (spices etc) and plastics in the wrapping, plus I have almost no food waste anyway so that wouldn't be a saving for me.
I won't be continuing, my box would have cost £50.25 plus £1.99 p&p and I'd say the same food would cost me around £30 max, probably less.
But a very welcome freebie!
The bloke I'm seeing is going to have a free box on my code and I'll see if my patents want one and if I get 2 x £20 free credit I'll probably have another box before I cancel if I can combine 30% off and a £20 credit.
We had a substution which I didn't notice before I posted the above, large tomatoes were substituted for some of the cherry tomatoes (1 had 1 box of cherry and 5 large).
They texted and emailed me about this, and gave revised cooking instructions.
We've since cooked one of the meals (see pics). DP had the whole salad bag on the pictured plate as I don't like salad, and I did some frozen peas to go with mine.
The recipe was easy to follow and pretty much took the time stated.
Food tasted good, and I liked the basil & tomato sauce and would make that again.
I ordered a 4 person box but it will mainly be DP and I eating them so thats 8 meals for each of us.
I only see him at the weekends so I froze all of the meat & the spinach.
I'll use the majority of the fresh things (eggs, potatoes, sweet potatoes, peppers, tomatoes and carrots) as larder items as I'd always have them in anyway, then we will be make the other meals at our leisure over the coming weekends as the condiments will keep.
DP took the other salad bags and will have them as part of his lunches this week.
