To not go on holiday as it's too much stress/effort

I would love to have a little holiday with dh and dc (ideally), just a couple of nights away not too far in the UK but we've decided it's just too difficult. We've got a lively son who's just turned 4 and an equally lively little girl who's just turned one. Life can be exhausting just doing day to day stuff, let alone a holiday. We've only been away for 1 night within an hour of home as a family of 4 and even that was stressful.

How do others parents make holidaying look so easy? Is the stress of going on holiday actually worth it.

If you go somewhere child orientated and keep them busy it’s easier than being at home.

Give it six months to a year then see how you feel. I know plenty of people who've given holidays a miss at the stage you're at.

My advice would be to book a week off work....find a caravan site with activities for children somewhere not too far away and do 3 nights or something like that then come home and put them back in childcare and you and DH have some child free time to chill out.

We'd never done caravan holidays before having children but have found them the easiest as there's usually plenty on site for children to do.

All inclusive is the best way. Tbh though, it's just parenting in a different place, it's full on without breaks still. We've just got back from abroad with our 3 year old. Wasn't relaxing but we had a lovely time and she loved the pool etc. The plane journey was awful though as she was hyper and wouldn't settle at all.
We had a lovely North Wales holiday last year and it was just as fun (had good weather admittedly).
Personally, holidays in the UK are great while kids are small.
