To think it's easier to do the exercise class than it is to get the fecking sports bra on and off

I'm still sitting in my gym kit 3 hours later as I have not got the residual energy to wrangle myself out of the sports bra.
Different makes seem to make no difference
It's so bloody uncomfortable I'm tempted to get the scissors and just cut it off
Advice??

Is it one of the ones which has no fastening? I discount any that you can't undo, they are bloody torture. Bad enough getting them on but once a teeny bit hot and sweaty, virtually impossible.

OneCup · 27/07/2022 22:53

Mine unhook at the back like normal bras. They're very comfy. Perhaps try other models?

PurpleDaisies · 27/07/2022 22:54

There are some that are impossible but definitely others that are fine. I wear shock absorbers (multi sports) and runderwear easy on with no problems.

sleepwhenyouaredead · 27/07/2022 22:55

@TheTeenageYears Yes no fastening on this one but I have ones with a fastening as well and they are not much better - its a sort of half fastening though so still some contortion required.
I think I'm in it for the night

I got zip in a front and adjustable shoulders after exactly this happened to me. I did at one point make peace with the option of just living in the old one forever, then I cut it up....

Beamur · 27/07/2022 22:57

I gave up trying to put one on in the heat a few days ago! Just wore my normal bra.

Try the ones that unhook completely. I’ve never got on with the crop top style ones.

Cocopogo · 27/07/2022 22:57

Some have zips at the front, maybe that would be easier

Lucky you having that option!

sleepwhenyouaredead · 27/07/2022 22:59

@PurpleDaisies The ones I have look like the shock absorber style but maybe the fabric is less rigid and more stretchy so you can get them on and off easily. I'm happy to chuck out what I have - I just don't want to replicate the mistake

PurpleDaisies
It wasn't ideal...😆

sleepwhenyouaredead · 27/07/2022 23:01

Zips sound good - I'm going to look for those

There isn’t just one shock absorber style though. I can’t get on with the ultimate run ones because I can’t reach the clip at the top.

Justcannot · 27/07/2022 23:01

Been there, got the dislocated shoulder to show for it...

Now I love the ones by runderwear, two normal bra fastenings at the back, but great support. Decathlon do something similar but less support I think.

PurpleDaisies · 27/07/2022 23:02

I just find anything stretchy enough to put on without unhooking isn’t anywhere near supportive enough.

Lolabalola · 27/07/2022 23:02

Wearing over normal bra helps if well endowed.
Can never get the bloody zip up otherwise

I've got a couple of the high impact shock absorbers with 2 fasteners at the back, the upper of which is impossible so I leave it done up. But I've also got two of their more 'normal bra' types which are just normal back hooks, no particular contortion needed. I wouldn't run or do star jumps in them but they're fine for most other activities.

bluedomino · 27/07/2022 23:07

I have the same problem with tankini swimsuit tops. Once they are wet I can't get them off as the internal bra sticks with a suction action. Honestly you would have thought that by now someone could have designed some type of boob holder that you could get off without needing the assistance of your offspring. I think that an easily removed sports bra should be the final exam in an engineering degree.

PurpleDaisies · 27/07/2022 23:07

This is my most recent purchase:
www.runderwear.co.uk/collections/limited-time-sale-womens/products/easy-on-support-running-bra-pink-cyan?variant=40887807246447

Really comfy and no issue putting on.

This is the shock absorber I have a lot of:
www.shockabsorber.co.uk/active-multi-sports-support-bra-black-s4490/?gclid=Cj0KCQjwxIOXBhCrARIsAL1QFCa0YPDJKk5Eq-N9IS5rPbdY6SlvM755vG27QFE0EzfKvuezmPZEfD4aAgaREALw_wcB

These are also ok to put on and off without any significant contortion.

sleepwhenyouaredead · 27/07/2022 23:09

@Justcannot Poor you
Runderwear sounds worth a look - I've put up with this for too long without paying enough attention to my purchases!

HorribleHerstory · 27/07/2022 23:11

I’ve given up as they all make me feel like I can’t breathe, I have a couple of those tank tops with the internal support part and I use those for running and tennis both and they seem to work fine. Hoiking them up over the bosom before taking them off over the head seems to work for me.

sleepwhenyouaredead · 27/07/2022 23:11

@PurpleDaisies Thank you

ANiceBigCupOfTea · 27/07/2022 23:13

I had this issue for years, but I got one by LA Gear- it was only about 15 quid but it goes on like an actual bra. No hoiking over my head. Its really supportive too.

YIANNA Women High Impact Sports Bra Plus Size Zip Front Fastening Bras Padded Adjustable Strap amzn.eu/d/2ymiMgh

I got this one and it holds my watermelons well.... 😂

If you find a style you like, it’s worth checking sales regularly for your size and picking up a few. Boobydoo often has good offers.
