Parents dating children

I often see posts on Facebook of parents saying they are going on a date with their children I find this absolutely cringeworthy does anyone else? To me you go on a date with a man or woman that you see as a partner not a child. Just saw one of daddy saying he's going on a date with his daughter really does make my skin crawl.

I even find it annoying when couples go on 'date nights'.

Especially people with no kids - every night is date night for you lucky bastards.

I'm old, but I remember people frothing about the term 'play-date'. It's just quicker and easier than saying "Let's arrange a day to get the kids together" "let's organise a play date"
"I'm planning a day out with DD" vs "'I'm planning a date with DD'"
I've never heard or seen anyone say they're going on a date with their DC, but it wouldn't bother me, and I know what they'd mean🤷‍♀️.
