What's your best supermarket emergency microwave dinner

If you only had 35 minutes to spare between work and kids hobbies every Tuesday evening what would you cook for dinner in that time? I'm not a fan of ready meals but Tesco do an nice carbonara and one evening a week is ok! What would you suggest?

Cereal and toast night!

Frozen salmon fillet in the microwave, boil some pasta then pesto and avocado with it. 10 mins and it's on the table

Yes, I did. I said I wouldn’t bother with a microwave meal in this weather. And the I gave a suggestion as to what I’d do.

my favourite is Tesco’s macaroni cheese then I stir on some baby spinach

I guess could serve with garlic bread so you have a proper meal 😜

I like M&S curry ones, especially the butter chicken, and the Tesco beef ragu mentioned by a PP.

Some of the Co op ready meals are pretty nice - I had butternut squash and chicken with wild rice tonight, which was actually good, their lasagne and spaghetti carbonara are okay too. Nowt wrong with them now and again in the context of an overall healthy diet. One would serve two kids with some garlic bread and salad/fruit. Fruit can be eaten in car en route.

Wow I'm just catching up with this thread now and so many replies! Thank you all for so many ideas for ready meals and other alternatives... they're all very welcome and I will be trying many of them out during my 'spare' 35 minutes on Tuesday evenings... some nice combinations I hadn't even thought of before...

Frozen pizza takes 15 mins, that’s our go to quick meal. Fresh pizza even faster.

microwave wise, most things are completely edible, I’d not go super saver unless you really need to budget wise because they look a bit crap.
