To not want to hear the word 'poo' and 'bum' 800 times a day

Why oh why???
Where do they get the obsession? I don't say it..
Why has my almost 5 year old started to shoot things when I don't let him watch violent cartoons and don't have any toy guns in the house??? Where did he learn 'I'm going to kill you.. bang!' from???
Please is it possible to stop the poo bum thing, my mother says its just a phase and in a couple of years... don't worry.. he'll have moved onto swear words and be trying to teach them to the baby! JOY

You just have to accept it I'm afraid! All part of having 4 and 5 year old boys.

And no, it's not possible to stop the poo and bum thing, in fact, if you ban him saying those things he'll juist want to say them more your mum's right!

TheMoistWorldOfSeptimusQuench · 18/01/2008 10:23

I wouldn't bank on them growing out of it. My brother is still obsessed with talking about poo.

He's 37.

He & his partner's pet names for each other are Mr. and Mrs. Poo.

jellies · 18/01/2008 10:26

I know really and a lot of the time it could make me laugh... but its the times they do it just to wind you up... or the passing a stranger and saying 'hello Mr poo poo head'? Arragh
Or passing another child from school.. the other child (usually a little girl) says hello and my DC says Hello smelly, why?
PS. that's was just this am hence the micro rant!

Ds loves the words bum and willy atm.

I find it quite funny

Don't like the claiming to shoot people dead though

Though the only toy gun we have in the house he thinks is a trumpet. And instead makes guns out of other stuff.

Freak

Blandmum · 18/01/2008 10:46

The 'poo' 'bum' thing lingers. [sigh]

I have taught digestion to year 8, 12-13 year olds, who all collapse into hysterics when one of them shouts 'bum hole'

Oh how I hate 'bum hole'. For some reason it is worse than bum.

Anus

Anus

Anus.

I feel better now

jellies · 18/01/2008 10:52

LOL Haven't had bum hole yet Thank the lord!
The funny thing is (about the shooting dead) he's misheard whoever he has learned this from and instead of making that pew pew noise he says 'pillow pillow'!

I think I'd have to wait until he was 6 for him to understand the instructions... Good idea though.. as he's failing miserably at his sticker chart...

can't believe how mature you all are

I just wanted to come on and say BUM

POO

had fully expected to click on this thread and see everyone saying bum, poo.

Pidge · 18/01/2008 16:26

My 2 year old dd's favourite insult is "STUPID BUMHEAD WILLY". Shouted at top volume.

Where oh where did that come from? The obvious culprit is 5 year old sister, but she denies all knowledge.

So it's not just boys, and definitely starts young ... !

tigerlily1980 · 19/01/2008 23:09

My 5 year old twins love all of these words;
Bum
Boobies
Poo
Willy/ Winky Woo
...and Eyeballs (?? A weird one, but brings on the same kind of hysterics that the toilet humour does when they say it).

My little boy is extremely sensible at school, and the minute I collect him he gets in the car and erupts saying as many of the above words as he can fit into a sentence!!

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 19/01/2008 23:24

Ok, winky-woo made me titter a bit. Do you actually call it that in your house?
