Jennifer Affleck. JFleck or Mrs. Affleck?

TinaTubster · 19/07/2022 06:46

Now that Jlo (Jennifer Lopez) has changed her name to Jennifer Affleck (it’s been leaked, classy move they don’t do that much in Hollywood), what do you think she should re-brand her “Jlo” name into?

vote YABU unreasonable for the similar to Jlo “JFleck” and YANBU for the “Mrs Affleck” moniker which could be a change of pace as she ages.

@Icanstillrecallourlastsummer

I said personal issues because you had said you regretted taking your DH’s name for your family.

It's all a publicity stunt IMO. Why anyone would marry that mediocre clown who can't keep his cock in his pants is beyond me.

Amazed she changed her name.

@user1477391263

Just seems it you know? Like “we are together as one unit now”. No hate, it’s just not something you often see in Hollywood for career reasons.

Maybe he could have changed his name to signify the whole "one unit" thing? No?

aquatastics · 19/07/2022 10:59

Ffs only on MN. So what if she changed her name? As a pp pointed out, she's been married 4 times already and by the sound of it, she changed her name each time. Strangely, her career survived and to the general public she's still JLo. She can do what the hell she wants. I changed my name and the world is still turning.

@Icanstillrecallourlastsummer

I don’t know it’s like when your introduced together and someone says “mr and Mrs samename” or “the samenamsess” - just seems classier.

How is that classy? I see it as outdated and offensive.

fruitbrewhaha · 19/07/2022 11:00

I don't care what she names herself. He could be BLo though.

But Jesus, she doesn't look her age does she? I wish I was rich, I'd look a lot younger.

DoingJustFine · 19/07/2022 11:03

I like Jaffleck. 😂

WellThatsGrim · 19/07/2022 11:07

Not following it but shame if she's changed her name, I thought she was better than that.

More column inches I guess and more when she changes it back later.

TinaTubster · 19/07/2022 11:07

@DoingJustFine That does actually sound catchier than Jfleck. All one word, like a brand of chocolate bar or something.

@SexyLittleNosferatu

Well millions of others don’t think it’s outdated or offensive so….

I know about 6 young women who have got married in the last few years all changed their names. If you didn’t that’s fine too but there’s no need to tag on other people or try to tell them their wrong. I think Jlo knows what she’s doing.

I guess but frankly that’s a bit off a turn off.

@SexyLittleNosferatu

Also his acting may be mediocre but his directing and writing often isn’t. He made Argo (really good movie) and wrote that and good will hunting. He has talent, it’s just not great acting talent. In that regard he’s a pretty face but he does have talent in other areas.

I think that’s what Jlo probably sees in him, his other talents and problems make him interesting. And he’s not bad looking.

I actually don't think they will get divorced. They're rich and have older children so there won't be that difficult period of 2 actors working around the kids. They can spend most of the year on holiday if they so choose. I know a lot of couples who got married in their 50s/60s and had a great 25/30 years together.

DaisyFleabane · 19/07/2022 11:23

@stuntbubbles It just feels more old Hollywood than these days where everyone is know by one name (Beyoncé, Cardi B etc) or had a made up name and all that jazz.

Anyway what do you think she should re-brand as?

I don't think any Old Hollywood stars changed their professional names upon marriage (and in those days they married and remarried all the time!). I also don't think Jennifer Lopez will. It's convenient to have a private name as well as a high-profile brand name.

Catlover77 · 19/07/2022 11:24

It is outdated and offensive. She is successful in her own right, why would taking a man’s name be ‘classy’? Bizarre

@DashboardConfessional You actually make a good point. They may know themselves well enough know that they can just enjoy each other for what they are and not get worked up about what they’re not. They certainly have the money to be together when they want and apart when they want.

It would actually be nice if that happens.

It's quite obviously her choice.

So you judge about 9 out of 10 married women? That’s pretty mean.

How is it mean? It's an opinion. I don't say it to their face. I can think whatever I like.

Heatstrokeunsteady · 19/07/2022 11:42

Has anyone said B.lo or Blo yet? I like J.af myself…

Sartre · 19/07/2022 12:08

They’ll be divorced within 3 years so it’s a waste of time. He’s an alcoholic and he looks miserable 24/7. Jennifer Garner had a lucky escape.

But all celebrities have this option, yet they divorce within a few years…

If they are still married in 5 years, I will eat my right arm.

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Lopez. Done

A lot of them stay together for the kids or because one is a lot less famous and the other doesn't want to pay spousal maintenance.
