Jennifer Affleck. JFleck or Mrs. Affleck?

TinaTubster · 19/07/2022 06:46

Now that Jlo (Jennifer Lopez) has changed her name to Jennifer Affleck (it’s been leaked, classy move they don’t do that much in Hollywood), what do you think she should re-brand her “Jlo” name into?

vote YABU unreasonable for the similar to Jlo “JFleck” and YANBU for the “Mrs Affleck” moniker which could be a change of pace as she ages.

How about Jerk?

CheshireDing · 19/07/2022 07:33

vroom123 he was married to Jennifer garner for around a decade I think.

He said at one point that that marriage was boring and what drove him to drink. If that was the case why did he stay so long then I wonder ? I think someone in his family was an addict/alcoholic too (aren’t addictive personalities usually hereditary).

jennifer garner took him to rehab even when they weren’t together any more, there was a video of the paps outside him
house and a drive through when she was taking him to rehab and she came and asked them to move on and give him some space. I think he may have been a lot worse off if it wasn’t for her but ultimately it maybe wasn’t fun enough for him 🤷‍♀️

he’s still fit though 😆

JAff has a nice ring to it.

Jenny from the Block was a song that came after the album titled J.Lo. Not a rebranding?!

@Rosecoffeecup Unless I’m mistaken she was pushing it as her new moniker at that time, it just didn’t catch on.

Glad to see a thread of national importance trending on mn.

user1477391263 · 19/07/2022 08:16

Why is it more "classy" to change your name?

TinaTubster · 19/07/2022 08:37

@CheshireDing

If I remember it right there were inside rumours that she was very controlling of him and his career, trying to push him more into the blockbuster side of things when he wanted to try directing more. And that contributed to an addictive personality coming out more.

Of course that could be tabloid bs. But I just remember vaguely that there were rumours that she had a very different side to her sweet image. Whether that would be thought of differently now we know more about controlling beahviour I don’t know.

Just seems it you know? Like “we are together as one unit now”. No hate, it’s just not something you often see in Hollywood for career reasons.

I thought he was with Jennifer Aniston? Now you say he was married for 10 years to Jennifer Garner? And now, yesterday, he married Jennifer Lopez (although people are saying they were together before as well)?

Who was controlling who and when?

'Jaffa' is a good one.

Willyoujustbequiet · 19/07/2022 09:44

It's not classy it's sad.

She's an incredibly successful woman and her name is part of that. He should have become Ben Lopez.

ZandathePanda · 19/07/2022 09:48

JAck

TinaTubster · 19/07/2022 10:15

@Willyoujustbequiet

If you think it’s sad then how would him becoming Ben Lopez be less sad?

Regardless a lot of people like myself find it relatable and romantic. I’m glad she didn’t let herself be bullied into anything just because someone might have a go at her for it. It’s empowering.

@aquatastics He’s never been with Jennifer Aniston, or Jennifer Gray, or Jennifers Coolidge, Tilly, Connelly, Hudson, Lawrence or Beals.

But this still doesn’t explain why it’s “classy”? Which implies keeping your own name is somehow not classy. Very odd take.

There is nothing classy about taking on a man's surname as yours.

There may be traditional or practical reasons for it. But no, it's not classy. YABU.

TinaTubster · 19/07/2022 10:47

@Icanstillrecallourlastsummer

I don’t know it’s like when your introduced together and someone says “mr and Mrs samename” or “the samenamsess” - just seems classier.

Why are people banging on about this? She has just changed her name in her private life. She has changed her name twice before. She has been Jennifer Noa and Jennifer Muñiz, but Jennifer Lopez profesionally. Not sure what the big deal is.

I don't see that as classy at all. What an odd way to describe it.

I HATE when I am referred to as Mrs [dh's first name or initial] [our surname] (Ms or Mrs [surname] is ok as it is my name too of course0. I cringe at being referred to as a belonging or extension of my husband. In hindsight I wish I'd not taken his name, or that we had double barrelled.

I actually think it's a bit pathetic and low key judge people who do it.

@Icanstillrecallourlastsummer

Well alright obviously you have personal issues about it and that’s your right, but for those of us who don’t feel that way thinking it’s nice isn’t odd at all.

Its not odd to think it’s classy, it’s an extremely common opinion which you don’t share. Which is ok. It’s not worth us arguing about, I really just made a light hearted thread about her “brand” name.

Personal issues? Errr no.

Yes, we have a different opinion. That's kind of the purpose of this board.

I have also never heard anyone else describe it as classy.
