Please be kind. I'm severely emetophobic and my anxiety is sky rocketing because I think I've just given myself food poisoning.

Basically - cooked mince on Saturday, put it in the fridge cooked. On Sunday added it to a lasagne and reheated in the oven when I cooked the lasagna. There was left over lasagna
(and this is where I was stupid😫), so I put in the fridge on Sunday. Just heated it up in the microwave tonight for my tea. I ate just under half before I realised my mistake - ie eating mince that has technically been reheated twists after cooking.

I'm going to get poorly arent I? 😭 I'm really scared.

We do that all the time. You'll be fine.

Cactuslove · 18/07/2022 20:41

You'll probably be fine. Your phobia is causing the panic. But if I had done this I wouldn't think twice and probably wouldn't get ill. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you 😊

SpartacusNotEsther · 18/07/2022 20:42

It'll be absolutely fine

danishkids · 18/07/2022 20:42

I often reheat our food 2 or 3 times. We have never had food poisoning. You should be fine :)

arghstupidmistake · 18/07/2022 20:42

Has anyone done this and survived???

Darbs76 · 18/07/2022 20:42

Got no I do that a lot, it’s fine, I wouldn’t be panicking over it at all

mynameiscalypso · 18/07/2022 20:42

I've done this loads of times. I've also given it to my toddler. Never had a problem.

gamerchick · 18/07/2022 20:42

If it's piping hot I wouldn't worry.

nokidshere · 18/07/2022 20:42

Absolutely fine

arghstupidmistake · 18/07/2022 20:42

Oh I see a few people have, cross posted. I'm praying so hard that I'm fine too! (And I'm not remotely religious 😬)

All the time. You’ll be fine.

OperaStation · 18/07/2022 20:43

We do it all the time. It’s fine.

Clariana · 18/07/2022 20:43

Yes, of course you will be fine, I have done it many times. Please don't worry.

WingBingo · 18/07/2022 20:44

Yes I do this all the time too

xyzandabc · 18/07/2022 20:44

You'll be fine. Always tastes better 2nd or 3rd time.

arghstupidmistake · 18/07/2022 20:44

Oh phew thank you so much!! You have no idea the relief I feel.

Does anyone know why they say it's not good to reheat twice then? I thought it was the worst sin and a guaranteed way to food poisoning.

OP posts:
jetadore · 18/07/2022 20:44

I’d be surprised if you got poorly. Unless you were doing anything particularly unhygienic like leaving it sat out for ages I would say the chances are low. I have done similar multiple times with no ill effects.

dottiedodah · 18/07/2022 20:44

It's not ideal no.however many people have Done this and survived ! Please don't worry.

comealongponds · 18/07/2022 20:44

Of course people do this and survive, people do it every day and are fine

not something I do, but it’s done now so all the worrying in the world won’t achieve anything except make you feel ill!

chances are you’ll be absolutely fine

MrsTerryPratchett · 18/07/2022 20:44

arghstupidmistake · 18/07/2022 20:42

Has anyone done this and survived???

A hundred times.

The alternative is wasting lasagna, which is a sin.

LosingTheWill2022 · 18/07/2022 20:44

arghstupidmistake · 18/07/2022 20:42

Has anyone done this and survived???

Of course. It is not something to panic about.

GroggyLegs · 18/07/2022 20:44

Once you've cooked it, it resets the clock & you can freeze it again.

Promise.

Allywill · 18/07/2022 20:45

Honestly it’s fine. I can be a bit anxious over food but I have done this loads and it’s never been a problem.

tootiredtobother · 18/07/2022 20:45

it's cooked rice you have to be careful with, left too long it grows a fungus, that you cant see
