I live in a city in a ground floor flat, no garden but I have a driveway that comes with my flat.
I don't have a car so this Is why I don't know if I'm being unreasonable..
My doorway / driveway gets alot of direct sun so I like to dry my washing out there on racks when the weather is nice. I also like to sit out there on a chair with a cold drink and a book sometimes.
A few months ago a family moved into the flat above me and have taken to parking their big people carrier on my drive. They didn't ask my permission, just assumed they were entitled to because I don't have a car.
My frustration is when their car is there I can't put my washing out, it also blocks alot of the sun. They park it diagonally aswell which is a PITA for me getting my pram in and out.
They are out there at the minute cleaning and hoovering the car about 3ft away from my doorstep so I can't sit out and enjoy the sun / a bit of peace and quiet.
AIBU to be unhappy about them using my drive in this way? The poll results will determine what, if anything, I say to them.
AIBU?
To not want their car on my driveway?

I assume this was aimed at me? If you took the time to read more than the date it lists things you can do to solve the problem 🙄

You might want to talk to them about the situation... And ask them to not park in your spot.... If they agree with you and stop parking there then the problem is solved if not then you might want to consider the next course of action that might involve the local constabulary

turn the drive into a pocket garden and enjoy it

We had this in our last flat. Neighbour had two cars. Needed to park close to their flat cos they had a pram etc. They started parking their second car in our space and letting visitors use it as well without saying anything to us about it. Got really shirty with my husband when he went round and asked them to move their car and complained bitterly about having to move it but they did eventually move it. We bought a sign with our flat number on and put it up in the space to make it clear that it belonged to us and they stopped doing it.
I think you just need to go round and talk to them and make it clear they are parking on your property, which is trespassing. They may not even realise it belongs to you. You don’t need to be using it for parking if it is your land, in fact it is nothing to do with them what you use your land for! They don’t have an automatic right to park on it just cos you’re not.

Bit aggressive… Thought this was supposed to be a community space? 🙂

I'm pleased to report that my driveway is still car free and I've been making full use of it, rain aside.
I forwarded the news articles to my landlord who was most amused 😁

Excuse me neighbour but I would like to use my own drive so can you please move your car...
If you really don't use it for a car cement some planters on it.
