To be annoyed with Woolworths?

I went out with my Mum on Monday( i dont drive) I went into Woolworths to buy a case for my ds's nintendo ds!!! I paid £4.99 for it and when i got it out of the packaging at home the back of it was damaged (the material had been torn) A friend went to a different town today and I asked her to take it back with its receipt to be changed.
She got back half an hour ago and informed me that at first they offered her the damaged one at half price! Luckily there are no flies on her and she knew that my ds would probably pull the fabric more and damage it further. Thankfully she stood her ground and asked for and got a replacement!
I cant believe the cheek of the guy in Woolworths though! GRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!

Maybe this is their policy. I have often asked for and received reductions on items with slight damage or marks at various shops. However, I do think its unreasonable for your friend to actually have had to stand her ground in order to get a replacement.

YABU - they gave her a choice - she made the right one.

YABU.

IME alot of people are very happy with the original at reduced price.

They offered, she turned it down and got a replacement.

WHere's the problem?

oh god dont shut woolies
i need to go and get one of these pens with 4 colours

ArmadilloDaMan · 17/01/2008 16:48

yeah, when I used to work for them a few years ago we were always warned they were in trouble.

They don't have the niche they used to with places like WIlkinsons opening up.

Not going to be around for ever.

southeastastra · 17/01/2008 16:51

if anyone spots a 'stressed' mug at woolies let me know. i love mine and it has a big crack in it .

My friend bought a game for her ds from Woolies, the game wasn't in there and when she took it back she ended up having to buy a new one as they didn't believe it was missing
